This position will be within the Data Analytics team which sits inside the Data & Technology business - one of seven practices focused on client delivery services across the Firm.

Our Dubai Data Analytics practice is a pivotal hub for several Data and Technology Solutions provided by Ankura globally. Our experts help a large variety of clients across many sectors in both proactive and reactive projects.


Proactive We address our clients' needs to better understand and accordingly leverage their own datasets in order to improve performance.

This can happen in many forms, such improving a client's IT infrastructure and how their various systems are interconnected or developing custom algorithms and user interfaces


Reactive We support our clients in dealing with particularly challenging situations, such as investigations and regulatory inquiries, whereas they require external expert firms like Ankura to perform defensible, forensically-sound data analyses.

An example can be a look-back review of the transactional activities of a bank.

Role Overview


As Associate, you will be working closely with the project team to become familiar with the clients' big-picture objectives and challenges.

You will execute critical project deliverables to ensure these objectives are met on time and with the highest quality. You will be responsible for designing and executing efficient and innovative workflow solutions to address our client's issues.


In the Associate role, you will be responsible for scoping and executing technical, analytics tasks and working with guidance from surrounding team members.

You will get the chance to work alongside a highly specialised team that is building an advanced Data Analytics practice for UAE and Middle East region with support from our international team members.


Responsibilities:

  • Collect and analyse structured datasets, such as core banking and transaction monitoring systems, accounting/financial systems, forex and commodities trading data.
  • You will support the team across all phases of a project, from data identification and collection to analysis and report writing.
  • You will also be exposed (and gradually more directly involved) in Project Management tasks such as preparation of project plans, work papers, project stuffing and budgeting, project documentation, and client status updates-
  • Conduct quality control checks to ensure accuracy of tasks/deliverables
  • Perform the day-to-day client engagement activities, including interaction with client personnel, internal Ankura team members, and other stakeholders involved in the engagement.
  • Contribute to the overall success of the firm by participating in pitches, developing internal training, and marketing the firm externally to prospective clients.

Requirements:

  • Technical skill sets_
  • Familiarity with programming languages such as SQL, Python and R.
  • A Science, Mathematical and Quantitative based bachelor's degree. For example, but not limited to Management Information Systems, Computer Information Systems, Maths, Physics, Economics, or Engineering.
  • Strong attention to detail, possessing problem solving, troubleshooting and analytical reasoning skills.
  • Strong ability and desire to utilise technology to solve complex problems.

- and long-term client engagements.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively and clearly to both technical and nontechnical clients and internal staff
  • Willing to travel nationally and internationally.


Desired Qualifications- One to two years of experience in a similar position.- Programming experience (SQL, Python, JavaScript, R, PowerShell, Bash, Java, C#, etc.)- Experience with Cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, GCP.
