This position will be within the Cyber, eDiscovery and Digital Forensics teams within the Data & Technology business - one of seven practices focused on client delivery services across the Firm.

Our Dubai Cybersecurity and Privacy Practice is a rapidly growing part of the Data and Technology Solutions provided by Ankura globally.

Our experts help clients address their critical information security challenges, including incident investigation/response and assessing and reducing information security risks.


The Digital Forensics and Incident Response (DFIR) team at Ankura Dubai is focused on providing in-depth DFIR services to our clients that are under attack or proactively defending against threat actors.

These services stop the bleeding, contain the attack, and analyse deeply to determine how an attack manifested.

Role Overview


As Associate, you will be working closely with the project team to become familiar with the clients' big-picture objectives and challenges.

You will execute critical project deliverables to ensure these objectives are met on time and with the highest quality. You will be responsible for designing and executing efficient and innovative workflow solutions to address our client's issues.


In the Associate role, you will be responsible for scoping, collecting, and conducting technical analysis of evidence and working with guidance from surrounding team members.

You will get the chance to work alongside a highly specialised team that is building an advanced DFIR practice for UAE and Middle East region with support from our international team members.


Responsibilities:

  • Participate in security incident investigations that involve computer crimes and require log, forensic, and malware analysis.
  • Collect and analyse intrusion detection system alerts, firewall logs, network traffic logs, and host system logs to evaluate whether unauthorised access or information exfiltration occurred.
  • Perform forensic analyses to identify security compromises including, unauthorised access, data exposure and the presence of any malware, malware capabilities/actions, and what actions the malware took.
  • Conduct security investigations in Windows, Linux/Unix, macOS, iOS and Android environments.
  • You will support the team in data identification, collection, preparation, and analysis and collaborate with other departments to achieve the best possible outcome.
  • Participate in the preparation of project plans, work papers, project documentation, progress, and final reports at the highest level of excellence.
  • Conduct quality control checks to ensure accuracy of tasks/deliverables related to searches, review workflow, productions, processing, and exports.
  • Perform the daytoday client engagement activities, including interaction with client personnel, internal Ankura team members, and other stakeholders involved in the engagement.
  • Contribute to the overall success of the firm by participating in pitches, developing internal training, and marketing the firm externally to prospective clients.

Requirements:

  • Ability to identify significant events from evidence sources to create a timeline of events that contributes to the larger incident timeline.
  • Reasonable technical understanding, or prior experience implementing, of administering security controls within two of the following operating systems; Windows, macOS, or Linux systems.
  • Some understanding in hostbased digital forensics, including analysing system artifacts (file system, memory, running processes, network connections) for indicators of compromise.
  • Reasonable technical understanding of the threat actor landscape, including, attacker techniques, tactics, and procedures.
  • Strong interest in learning, or experience / familiarity with, the following technologies:
  • Cybersecurity Tools (Carbon Black,Forensic software (Encase, MD Next, Oxygen Forensics, Axiom Cyber, etc.)-
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively and clearly to both technical and non-technical clients and internal staff
  • Strong attention to detail, possessing problem solving, troubleshooting and analytical reasoning skills
  • Willing to travel nationally and internationally.


Desired Qualifications- One to two years of experience in a similar position.- We are open to consider fresh graduates with degree and/or professional certification(s) in information security or a relevant field of study.- Experience with Cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, GCP.
