Regional Category Manager | Caledonian Sleeper Dubai | Apply NowKey AccountabilitiesAccountable for category management of the Middle East spend categories within the region from strategy creation through to the delivery of business outcomes and performance targets including in-year and annualised savings targets as agreed through the planning processWork with the group heads of categories to agree where regional spend should be managed under a global category strategy and where category strategy will be defined regionallyCreate and continually review comprehensive and forward-looking regional category strategies and plans to deliver results and year-on-year continuous improvement in cost, service, innovation and risk for the categories, applying strategic thinking whilst ensuring that local business and supply market requirements are understood and supportedEducate and influence key stakeholders to support category strategy development, endorse recommended category strategies, support implementation and agree how benefits will be capturedLeverage one's own category and market expertise and that of Serco colleagues, Procurement Business Partners and key stakeholders to support Serco in optimising value, managing demand and mitigating risk from the third-party supply base for the Middle East send categoriesCollaborate with key stakeholders and Procurement colleagues to capture business requirements and support the creation, implementation and management of comprehensive regional category strategies for all procurement categories spend including but not limited to: corporate services, fire & rescue services, FM, manpower (or input to global strategies), and that recognise and support Serco's corporate objectives and local market requirementsContribute to the global categories community of practice and encourage and support other regional team members to participate in other category communities of practiceTranslate category strategies into a clear and prioritised pipeline of sourcing projects for execution by the regional Sourcing & Category Management teamLead delivery of complex and/or higher value sourcing and continuous improvement projects with the support of Buyers or working on one's ownOversee and manage the creation of the regional Procurement pipeline with input from Business Partners, Senior Buyers, Buyers and stakeholdersDriving sustainable value from key supplier relationships and ensuring that benefits are recognised by key stakeholders to allow benefit deliverySpecific RequirementsEssential technical and professional skills, knowledge and qualifications
Graduate calibre with a Bachelor's degreePost-graduate qualification (e.g.

MSc/MBA) or a professional qualification such as MCIPS is desirable but not essentialAt least 3 years' experience in a category management roleWill have worked in a complex changing environment with demanding business objectives in a competitive market sectorDemonstrates a consistent track record of delivery within large and complex Procurement organisationsWill have a track record of category and supplier management, effecting change and continuous improvement through creation and implementation of innovative category strategies and building of effective supplier relationshipsHas strong relevant category, market and supplier knowledge in the region (including but not limited to:
