Amazonis looking for a highly-motivated Jr. Software Development Engineer(SDE) Jr. SDEs write real software and collaborate withexperienced software engineers who provide guidance andopportunities for ownership on projects that matter to ourcustomers. As a year-round intern, Jr. SDEs become fully integratedinto their teams and regularly contribute to impactfuldeliverables. Your design and code will contribute to solving someof Amazon's most complex technicalchallenges.

The Jr. SDE role is part ofAmazon's Jr Developer Program - a year-round internshipopportunity that offers a symbiotic relationship between work andschool. Jrs. receive 1:1 mentoring throughout their time in theprogram, receiving guidance and insight from a full-time Amazonianon their team. Because of the internship's extended tenure,our Jrs. become immersed in an Amazon team and gain real-lifetechnical experience. Flexible part-time schedules during theschool year and full-time employment over the summer creates anenvironment where students can succeed in both their work and theireducation. Tempe has a growing population of Jrs, allowing for deepconnections with fellow students engaged in similarroles.

Upon successful completion of the Jr.Developer Program, the opportunity for full-time employment may beavailable at an Amazon corporatesite.

RoleHighlights

  • Part-time work during the school year(16 hours/week)
  • Full-time work during thesummer (40 hours/week)

BasicQualifications

  • Currently enrolled in an accreditedcollege or university Bachelor's or Master's degreeprogram.
  • Majoring in Computer Science, SoftwareEngineering, or related STEM field.
  • Graduatingbetween June 2026 and June 2027.
  • Ability towork year-round until graduation (part-time during the school yearand full-time during the summer).
  • Living withincommutable distance to Tempe, AZ and able to work in-personyear-round.
  • Programming experience with atleast one modern language such as Java, Python, or C++ includingobject-oriented design.

PreferredQualifications

  • Previous technical internship(s), ifapplicable.
  • Ability to effectively articulatetechnical challenges and solutions.
  • Adept athandling ambiguous or undefined problems as well as ability tothink abstractly.
