A Civil Site Engineer plays a crucial role in the planning, design, and execution of civil engineering projects.

Job Description:

Project Planning and Design:

  • Lead and oversee the planning and design phase of civil engineering projects.
  • Collaborate with architects, clients, and other engineering disciplines to develop project specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations, codes, and standards.

Site Supervision:

  • Supervise and coordinate construction activities on-site.
  • Monitor project progress, quality, and safety.
  • Resolve any technical issues that may arise during construction.

Team Management:

  • Provide leadership and guidance to a team of civil engineers, drafters, and other professionals.
  • Delegate tasks and ensure that the team works cohesively to meet project deadlines.

Budget and Resource Management:

  • Develop and manage project budgets.
  • Allocate resources efficiently to meet project requirements.
  • Monitor and control project costs.

Client Interaction:

  • Communicate with clients to understand their requirements and expectations.
  • Provide regular updates on project progress and address any client concerns.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Prepare and review project documentation, including drawings, specifications, and reports.
  • Generate progress reports and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.

Quality Assurance:

  • Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure that the project meets specified standards.
  • Conduct inspections and audits to verify compliance.

Problem Solving:

  • Identify and address technical challenges during the project lifecycle.
  • Propose innovative solutions to enhance project efficiency and effectiveness.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.

Experience:

  • 5-6 years of experience in civil engineering, with a focus on site development and construction.
  • Prior experience in a leadership or supervisory role on construction projects.

Professional Certification:

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is often preferred or required.
  • Any relevant industry certifications may be beneficial.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in using engineering software and tools for design and analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and techniques.

Communication Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with clients, team members, and other stakeholders.

Leadership and Management Skills:

  • Strong leadership qualities and the ability to manage and motivate a team.
  • Effective decision-making and problem-solving skills.

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Knowledge of local building codes, regulations, and permitting processes.

Safety Awareness:

  • Deep understanding of construction safety standards and practices.
