  • Present top-line, cross-channel totalresults and forecasts at the Monthly Business Review meetings(MBR).
  • Manage receipts and inventory againsttargeted weeks of supply objectives and partner with merchandisingto recommend actions that drive sales and maximize gross margin byensuring the best receipt flow.
  • Manage andguide the Planners in the development of an ideal assortment tomaximize sales and margin for each buy period, ensuring theappropriate costs, retail and number of customer choices to achieveeach period’s targets. Review and approve thePlanners’ unit quantities to buy and to reorder whichwill effectively maximize the ability of each channel to maximizesales and margin for each buy period.
  • Managemarkdown and promotional strategies and ensure exit strategy forseasonal lines to effectively mitigate agedinventory.
  • Create Conceptual Assortment Plans(CAP) for Design needs and final Customer Choice (cc) counts bystore level for assortments.
  • Manage and providedirection to their Planners to partner across channels to ensureoptimal inventories to best serve the customer needs, sharinginventories as needed which will maximize overall sales andmargin.
  • Prepare cross-channel departmentoverviews to be presented at Weekly Business Meetings. Preparecomprehensive monthly hindsight recaps and present at monthlymeetings.
  • Guide the application of the lessonstowards the framework for future deliveries and reaction to currentbusiness trends.
  • Guide the development of theirPlanners’ Weekly Unit Plans and Key Item programs toexploit category opportunities to drive sales andmargin.
  • Travel to stores on a regular basis, toobserve the performance of their merchandise; to review markdownracks for future decisions on the purchase quantities ofmerchandise; to gain an understanding of the customer base, storelayouts and back stock space; and to foster a strong workingrelationship with the store teams.
  • Oversee thesales performance by comparing the actual sales versus the weeklytargets, previous years & projections, and take correctiveaction in coordination with other departments.
