Works with both internal and externalcustomers to ensure efficient and accurate patient entry into thehospital system, oversees physician schedules, and coordinatesendoscopy procedures. Performs patient pre-registration andregistration, insurance verification and obtaining necessaryauthorizations, educating patients on procedures and financialresponsibilities, and ensuring all required paperwork is completedand distributed correctly.

DUTIES ANDRESPONSIBILITIES:

General:

  • Workswith internal and external customers to efficiently and accuratelyenter patients into the hospitalsystem.
  • Monitors the physicians and books thepatient accordingly.
  • Promptly arranging thephysician schedules according to their booked OPD and endoscopyappointments
  • Book and prioritize the definedslots for each physician.
  • Works with internaland external customers to efficiently and accurately enter patientsinto the hospital system, in accordance with departmental policiesand procedures.
  • Greets patients andpre-registers/registers patients promptly, professionally, andefficiently, in accordance with departmental policies andprocedures.
  • Create a pre- Admit Fin on spot tostart the insurance process.
  • Follows theNational Patient Safety Goals regarding patientidentification.
  • Avoids use of medical jargonwhen speaking to patients andfamilies.
  • Requests cost estimates and educatesthe patients about possible financial responsibilities to beaddressed upon visit to the hospital.
  • Educatespatients about the preparation and guides them through the stepsthey need to take to perform endoscopyprocedures.
  • Books anesthesiologists visit andcoordinates accordingly prior to the scheduledprocedures.
  • Follow up on approval statuses,insurance requests and orders by the physicians on thesystem.
  • Call and update all patients abouttheir insurance status (Approved or Rejected) withoutdelay.
  • Follow up very closely with insurancecoordinator for all pending cases.
  • Acts as themediator and coordinator between the nurses, physicians andendoscopy departments
  • Explains forms andsecures all patient signatures for requireddocuments.
  • Ensures that all paperwork is sentto the appropriate departments.
