Impact on the Business

  • Provide engagement and advisorysupport to the front office and business finance teams on capitalmatters
  • Participation in reviews andassessments of transactions and wider strategicconsiderations
  • Participation in capitaltransactions, including capital debtissuance
  • Responsible for assisting in thepreparation of capital plans for HNAH, HUSI andHBUS
  • Responsible for assisting in the ongoingupdate and monitoring of the capital position of HNAH, HUSI andHBUS and ensure the implementation of capital management withinHNAH is in line with all current and new regulatory rules andaligned with Group and regionalstrategy
  • Participation in the preparation andreview of documentation and reports for the key HNAH governancecommittees for capital management and stresstesting
  • Responsible for building andmaintaining a detailed understanding and ongoing review of all USand global regulatory rules and to assist in the impact assessmentfor HNAH and its subsidiaries
  • Preparation ofcomponents of the annual capital plan submission forCCAR/DFAST
  • Preparation of capital planninginformation for the internal annual operating plan, periodicupdates and other strategic analysis
  • Activeparticipation in the wider capital planning and stress testingprocess, including HNAH capital contingency and recovery planningwork as necessary

As ourVice President Capital Planning, HNAH youwill:

Customers / Stakeholders

  • Required to work and liaise closely,with the wider Finance function, Risk and other internalfunctions
  • Coordination between the globalfunctions and businesses in HNAH and the widerGroup
  • Preparation of presentations for internaland external audiences and regulators
  • Liaisonand coordination with Group on capital management reporting anddeliverables

OperationalEffectiveness & Control

  • Maintain HSBC internal controlstandards, implement and observe Group Compliance Policy andmaintain awareness of operational risk and minimize the likelihoodof it occurring
  • Maintenance and monitoring ofHNAH’s governance and control procedures for capitalplanning and adherence to Group’s policies and standardsin GSM and FIMs
  • Monitoring and ensuringcompliance with HNAH and Group capital planning and all otherpolicies
  • Complete other responsibilities, asassigned

Management ofRisk

  • Ensure compliance,operational risk controls in accordance with HSBC or regulatorystandards and policies; and optimize relations with regulators byaddressing any issues

Observation of InternalControls

  • Maintains HSBCinternal control standards, including timely implementation ofinternal and external audit points together with any issues raisedby external regulators

For this role, HSBC targets a payrange between $141,300.00 and $211,900.00.

Thefinal fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and a number ofvariables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities,skill set, depth of experience and education,licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, andspecific work location.

Requirements

You´lllikely have the following qualifications to succeed in thisrole:

  • Qualifiedaccountant/MBA/CFA with experience in finance andaccounting
  • Ability to communicate complex ideasboth written and verbally to multiplestakeholders
  • Strongteamwork
  • Ensuring production and maintenance ofhigh quality technical, procedural, transactional and projectdocumentation
  • Strong computer skills includingspreadsheet and modellingcapabilities
