Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated IT Support Specialist to join our team. As an IT Support Specialist, you will be responsible for providing technical assistance and support to our internal users. This role requires strong technical skills in areas such as network servers, hardware and software troubleshooting, and excellent communication skills to effectively communicate with end-users. Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical support: Respond to and resolve technical issues reported by end-users promptly and professionally, ensuring minimal disruption to their work. Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network problems to identify and implement effective solutions.
  • Network server management: Monitor and maintain network servers (physical and virtual), ensuring their smooth operation and optimal performance. Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as updates, backups, and security patches, to keep the servers running efficiently. Manage and maintain the company\'s network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points. Troubleshoot network connectivity issues and ensure proper network configuration. Implement and maintain network security measures, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems.
  • Hardware and software troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve hardware and software problems reported by end-users. Install, configure, and upgrade computer hardware, software, and peripherals. Collaborate with vendors and other team members to resolve complex technical issues.
  • User support and training: Assist end-users in understanding and effectively using computer systems, software applications, and peripherals. Provide training and documentation to enhance users\' technical proficiency and ensure they can maximize the benefits of available technology. Respond to IT support requests from employees in a timely and professional manner. Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues, and provide appropriate solutions. Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, and other peripheral devices. Assist with onboarding and offboarding processes, including user account setup and equipment provisioning.
  • IT asset management: Maintain accurate records of hardware and software inventory, including licenses and warranties. Coordinate equipment procurement and disposal activities, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
  • Information security: Implement and enforce security measures to protect the organization\'s data and systems. Monitor systems for potential vulnerabilities and respond to security incidents promptly.
  • Documentation and knowledge sharing: Create and maintain technical documentation, including troubleshooting guides, user manuals, and FAQs. Contribute to the knowledge base by documenting known issues, resolutions, and best practices.
  • Collaborative approach: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including system administrators, developers, and project managers, to support IT infrastructure projects and initiatives. Participate in meetings, share insights, and contribute to the overall success of the team.
  • Office 365 Tools: Provide support and administration for Office 365 applications, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, and Teams. Assist users with troubleshooting issues related to Office 365 tools. Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls in Office 365. Qualifications and Skills:
    • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
    • Strong technical skills in network servers, hardware troubleshooting, software installation, and configuration.
    • Familiarity with cloud-based services and technologies.
    • Proficiency in operating systems such as Windows, macOS, and Linux.
    • Experience with network protocols, firewalls, and security measures.
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
    • Proven problem-solving abilities and the ability to work well under pressure.
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Solid understanding of network protocols, security standards, and best practices.
    • Experience with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and other core network services.
    • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) are a plus.
    • Familiarity with ITIL best practices and service management frameworks is beneficial. As an IT Support Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our organization\'s technology infrastructure.
