A little taste of your day-to-day:

  • Ensure that the kitchen is kept clean and tidy and that all work surfaces are kept clean to an ISI Standard.
  • Assist the Chief Steward / Back of House Manager that all Health and Safety and Food Safety regulations are adhered to regarding the kitchen areas.
  • Report any faults on kitchen equipment and fittings to maintenance and follow through on what action is taken.
  • Ensure that the Chefs are provided with an adequate supply of clean utensils and equipment.
  • Monitor the standards of performance of the charge hands and kitchen porters and take corrective action when necessary
  • Assist the Chief Steward / Back of House Manager in ensuring that all shifts are covered
  • Assist the Chief Steward / Back of House Manager with training and induction of new staff, to enable them to carry out their duties according to standards
  • Carry out any other duties within the food and beverage department which may be required
  • Supervise the consumption of all stewarding chemicals on a daily basis
  • Ensure that all stewarding employees follow safety instructions whilst cleaning machinery
  • Conduct regular checks to ensure that service and kitchen operating equipment is properly cleaned

What we need from you:

  • Good level of spoken/written English
  • Flexibility in shifts & tasks
  • Organizational, leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to train others
  • Good knowledge on HACCP
  • Minimum two years of experience in a similar environment (4-5* hotel)
