Our client are a leading global shipbroking and consultancy company that provides a wide range of services to a large and diverse array of clients around the globe. They help their clients manage contract and shipment performance while processing the risk and cost aspects of their shipping operation. Furthermore, they are comprised of specialist departments and cover both the wet and dry segments of the shipping market while offering Chartering and Brokering services along with Sale & Purchase services. They are full to the brim with hungry and passionate individuals who strive for success in everything that they do.
The role is for a Senior Dry Cargo Broker, and you will be responsible for the management of chartering broker activities and act as the intermediary between charterers and ship owners trying to arrange the best possible deal for cargo rates. Furthermore, the right candidate will be able to solve the day-to-day issues and oversee the implementation of workflow improvements and provide on the job training and coaching to Trainee Brokers. Finally, you will be able to assess the viability of new business opportunities and maintain strong working relationships with existing clients and customers.
In order to be considered for this role you must meet the following requirements:
• Possess 3 + years experience in chartering businesses related to the Dry Cargo market.
• Have a degree or diploma in a maritime related discipline.
• Be a good communicator and fluent in English both written and verbal.
• Be able to build rapport and build relationships with customers and clients.
