Job Description
Reporting to the Branch General Manager, the main purpose of this role is to control, manage and improve the effective running of the Operations of the Branch, efficiently scheduling runs, staff and services to satisfy Customer and Business requirements, setting the business up to strive for Best in Class Operations. Strategies to this end include implementing new equipment and systems, embedding a culture of Continuous Improvement, identifying and introducing improved working practices to improve efficiency and productivity, achieving budgetary obligations and the development of the Operational team.Team Work and Collaboration- Contribute to the development of the Cash Business as a whole and Operations specifically by identifying and sharing best practice and continuous improvement ethos with peers and reports- Work closely with other departments to develop, introduce and implement new working practices to develop a continuous improvement culture- Ensure effective communications with all staff, continually reviewing staff morale and welfareBest People- Review existing capability and implement training and development plans for all management and staff.- Implement staff appraisal process- Develop links with HR to ensure compliance with labour laws and develop a recruitment pipeline for candidates with your required skill sets.- Develop an appropriate succession plan for the operations.Customer Focus- Meet and exceed customer service level agreement expectations- Manage all new business requirements without impacting on existing business- Ensure correct, timely and effective customer briefings are in place.- Acknowledge, investigate and resolve Customer discrepancy claims / queries within agreed timelines, working with Cash Centres to ensure all trends are understood and appropriate actions taken to investigate and close.- Communicate appropriately with Cust Job Category Logistics & Supply Chain

- Experience of operational line management is essential- Experienced logistics professional- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles- Capable of leading a team in a time of change- Experience of managing in a labour intensive, multi-shift environment is essential- The ability to challenge the norm and achieve sustainable change- Experience of financial control and budgets- Experience of developing successful management teams and succession planning- Advanced English communication skills- Committed to working flexible hours and be on call at all times in emergencies.
