Our purpose is simple - to deliver a sustainable future for the world through science and collaboration.If you’re looking for a challenge and meaningful role, you’re in the right place.Dowhas an exciting opportunity for aSenior Customs & Trade Compliance Specialist, located in Dubai, UAE.As a Senior Customs & Trade Compliance Specialist, you will oversee the company’s regional efforts to ensure compliance with trade regulations for both import and export activities.In this role, you will require understanding of key business drivers for your discipline and function. You will need to be able to expand conceptual and working knowledge related to your discipline or functional area. You are expected to provide informal guidance to new team members and be able to explain complex information to others.It is your responsibility to use technical experience, established practices, and personal judgement to analyze and resolve straightforward problems. Your performance impacts the quality of your own work and your team’s work and requires that you work within established guidelines and policies.ResponsibilitiesResponsible for any import or export related operational issuesUnderstands the legal framework and policy restrictions for export or import control regimes and maintains processes for appropriate government agencies and system routines to complyActs as contact point for businesses and other functions for advice and assistance in case of non-standard import/export-related operational issues or questionsImplements new procedures/changes relative to outcome of e.g. government audits and new regulationsInvestigates regulatory implications for new business flows/material flowsRequests licenses and ensures compliance with the conditions in the licensesImplements proper work processes within the function to ensure compliance with regulations and adherence to licensesOrganizes and performs reports needed for regulatory requirementsContinues analysis of business and material flows and determines best practices from a perspective of appropriate government agencyQualificationsRequired education: University Degree, preferably in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering or other SciencesRequired experience: 3-6 years of experience in a Supply Chain or Manufacturing environmentThe critical competencies required for success are: supply chain management skills, interpersonal effectiveness, understanding customer needs and single work process activities and interactions, team work, taking initiative, problem solving skills, value creation, technical proficiency in use of computer applications, analytical skills and project management skillsAdditional note:Preference is given to nationals of the United Arab EmiratesBenefits – What Dow offers youWe invest in you.Dow invests in total rewards programs to help you manage all aspects of you: your pay, your health, your life, your future, and your career.
