We are currently looking for an experienced CAD Technician/Highways Designer with at least 10 years experience to join our Strategic Transport Business in the Middle EastThe Technician will be a qualified professional with a minimum of 10 years experience. With a very strong working knowledge of GCC Highway Design Practices.ResponsCompletion of assigned tasksAdherence to Atkins Quality Manual and ProceduresCoordination with other design disciplinesQualifications - ExternalTechnical Competencies
QualiCertificates in CADThis role requires working on a variety of transport planning/access studies – large scale transport masterplan assessments as well as traffic impact studies for multi-disciplinary planning projects in the public and private sectors. Working closely with Project Managers and other planning department staff to ensure timely completion of the necessary drawings, reports and plans as assigned.Must have a minimum of 10 years in CAD as well as regional highway designUnderstanding of transportation planning, highway access planning, road and interchange designs and public transport issues.Experience in designing and ‘working up’ appropriate road layouts to assist transport solutionProject experience in the Middle East and familiarity with local trends and Highway design practices and standardsCompetence with Microsoft Office suite of softwareMust be able to communicate in English effectively, both written and spokenMust be able to learn and retain new skills quickly from a variety of sourcesMust be able to work with limited supervisionSome experience of people and team managementCompetence to assist in growing the Atkins Transport Planning Business as well as to sell Atkins services generallyMust be familiar with working to Quality Assured SystemsMust be willing to travel internationallyExperience with highway design softwares such as MX, MicrostationCapable of communicating in Arabic effectively, both written and spokenContribute to preparation of transport planning reports including drawings, development of solutionsBehavioural ComHighly developed interpersonal skills, such as high competency in listening and communicating.A positive attitude that focuses on improving team work and co-operation at all times.Go
