Position Overview The Associate Manager - DC Inventory is a Distribution Centre inventory management role with Majid Al Futtaim Retail in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The position leads inventory control activities across Distribution Centre operations, with responsibility for maintaining stock accuracy, minimizing inventory losses, supporting efficient product movement, and ensuring reliable inventory records. The role covers the complete inventory cycle, including inbound receiving, stock management, replenishment, order allocation and preparation, shipment invoicing, physical inventory controls, and supplier compliance. It also requires leadership of the inventory team and continuous improvement of warehouse and logistics processes.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead inventory control operations across the Distribution Centre, maintaining high levels of inventory accuracy while reducing stock discrepancies and losses.
- Oversee daily activities covering goods receiving, stock management, replenishment, order allocation, order preparation, outbound dispatch, and shipment invoicing.
- Manage inventory tracking processes, cycle counts, physical stock audits, inventory adjustments, and related controls to maintain accurate records.
- Monitor inventory performance, stock aging, shortages, shrinkage, losses, and supplier compliance with Distribution Centre requirements.
- Investigate inventory discrepancies and implement corrective actions and continuous improvement measures.
- Maintain accurate inventory master data, operating parameters, and system configurations within the Warehouse Management System.
- Apply appropriate inventory management principles, including FIFO, FEFO, and LIFO, according to operational requirements.
- Identify opportunities to improve logistics processes, increase productivity, resolve system-related issues, and reduce inventory management costs.
- Maintain effective controls for order allocation, inbound receiving, stock management, and outbound dispatch to support required service levels.
- Ensure goods are received, stored, secured, handled, and distributed in accordance with applicable safety, security, and hygiene standards.
- Monitor compliance with company policies, financial procedures, budgets, security requirements, and operational controls.
- Coordinate with relevant functions to support Distribution Centre performance and wider business objectives.
Inventory Systems and Control
A central part of this position is maintaining reliable inventory information across warehouse operations. The Associate Manager will work with WMS configurations and inventory parameters while using cycle counts, stock audits, performance analysis, and inventory adjustments to strengthen stock control. The role also examines stock aging, shortages, losses, supplier performance, and other inventory indicators to identify issues and implement corrective measures.
Team Leadership
Lead, coach, and develop the inventory team through structured performance management, training, succession planning, and workforce development. The Associate Manager is expected to combine operational inventory expertise with people management to improve productivity and maintain consistent Distribution Centre standards.
Requirements
- 6 years of relevant managerial experience in inventory management or closely related operations.
- Strong knowledge of inventory control and Distribution Centre processes.
- Practical expertise with Warehouse Management Systems and inventory tracking processes.
- Strong analytical capability for reviewing inventory accuracy, losses, stock aging, shortages, and operational performance.
- Knowledge of inventory management principles including FIFO, FEFO, and LIFO.
- Experience with inventory forecasting and stock control.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Ability to identify opportunities for logistics and inventory cost reduction.
- Experience maintaining inventory master data and WMS parameters.
- Ability to manage inventory teams and support training, performance management, and workforce development.
