MEP Manager – Infrastructure & Pumping Stations

Key Responsibilities

- Manage and oversee all MEP activities across infrastructure projects from design coordination through construction, testing, commissioning, and handover.
- Lead the MEP scope for pumping stations, water, wastewater, stormwater, irrigation, and utility infrastructure projects.
- Manage and coordinate mechanical systems including pumps, piping networks, valves, mechanical equipment, tanks, and associated systems.
- Oversee electrical systems including MCCs, LV systems, control panels, power distribution, instrumentation, and SCADA/BMS interfaces.
- Coordinate MEP works with Civil, Structural, Roads, Utilities, and Infrastructure disciplines to ensure smooth project execution and eliminate clashes.
- Review and manage shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, technical submissions, and design changes.
- Manage MEP subcontractors, suppliers, and specialist contractors, ensuring compliance with project specifications, approved drawings, and contractual requirements.
- Coordinate with the Client, Consultant, Authorities, and other stakeholders and ensure timely approvals and inspections.
- Lead and monitor testing, pre-commissioning, commissioning, performance testing, and start-up of MEP systems and pumping station equipment.
- Ensure all MEP works comply with applicable UAE and Abu Dhabi regulations, authority requirements, international standards, project specifications, and HSE requirements.
- Monitor project progress, manpower, materials, equipment, procurement, and long-lead items to ensure MEP activities remain on schedule.
- Identify technical issues, construction risks, and potential delays, and implement effective corrective actions.
- Review designs, calculations, and technical proposals and identify opportunities for Value Engineering and cost optimization.
- Work closely with the QA/QC team to ensure proper inspection, testing, documentation, and quality compliance.
- Lead the snagging, de-snagging, final testing, authority approvals, and project handover processes.
- Ensure proper preparation and submission of as-built drawings, O&M manuals, commissioning records, test certificates, and handover documentation.
- Prepare regular MEP progress reports covering technical issues, progress, risks, manpower, procurement, and key project milestones.
- Lead and mentor the MEP team, including MEP Engineers, Supervisors, Inspectors, and Technicians.
- Represent the company in technical and coordination meetings with the Client, Consultant, subcontractors, and authorities.
- Ensure effective coordination between MEP construction activities and the overall project programme. Preferred Candidate Profile
- 12–18+ years of overall MEP experience, with significant experience in infrastructure projects.
- Strong proven experience in pumping stations, water/wastewater networks, utilities, and infrastructure projects.
- Previous experience in Abu Dhabi/UAE is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, controls, and pumping systems.
- Experience with testing & commissioning and authority approvals.
- Strong leadership, coordination, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Arabic speaker preferred, with strong English communication skills.
- Experience working with major consultants, contractors, and government/utility authorities in Abu Dhabi is an advantage. Language:
