The Role We are seeking an experienced Laundry Manager to lead laundry operations, linen and garment processing, quality control, equipment performance, workforce management, inventory, hygiene, and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will oversee the complete laundry cycle from collection and sorting through washing, drying, finishing, inspection, storage, and distribution while maintaining high standards of cleanliness, productivity, safety, and service quality.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement laundry operating strategies, policies, procedures, and service standards.
- Manage daily laundry operations across washing, drying, pressing, finishing, folding, sorting, storage, and distribution.
- Establish production schedules based on occupancy, demand, linen requirements, and service commitments.
- Coordinate collection and delivery of linen, uniforms, garments, towels, and other textile items.
- Ensure accurate sorting of items by fabric type, color, soil level, department, and required treatment.
- Establish appropriate washing, drying, chemical, temperature, and finishing procedures for different textile categories.
- Monitor laundry quality to ensure items are clean, hygienic, undamaged, properly finished, and ready for use.
- Establish inspection procedures for stains, discoloration, tears, shrinkage, damage, and other quality issues.
- Manage linen and textile inventory levels to ensure adequate availability for operational requirements.
- Conduct regular physical inventories and investigate losses, shortages, and discrepancies.
- Establish par levels and replenishment requirements for linen, uniforms, towels, and related items.
- Coordinate with Housekeeping, F&B, Spa, Hospitality, and other departments regarding linen requirements.
- Manage uniform issuance, collection, processing, repair, replacement, and inventory where applicable.
- Monitor laundry equipment including washers, dryers, ironers, presses, folders, conveyors, boilers, and finishing systems.
- Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance with Engineering and service providers.
- Monitor equipment performance, downtime, breakdowns, and maintenance requirements.
- Ensure laundry chemicals, detergents, softeners, disinfectants, and other supplies are correctly stored and used.
- Work with suppliers to evaluate laundry chemicals, equipment, consumables, textiles, and technical services.
- Control chemical consumption and optimize wash formulas without compromising hygiene or textile quality.
- Monitor water, energy, steam, detergent, labor, and other operating costs.
- Develop initiatives to improve productivity, reduce waste, and lower laundry operating costs.
- Manage staffing levels, shift schedules, attendance, workload distribution, and overtime.
- Recruit, train, coach, and evaluate laundry team members and supervisors.
- Establish training programs covering laundry procedures, equipment operation, chemical handling, hygiene, quality, and safety.
- Monitor employee performance and implement corrective or developmental actions when required.
- Ensure proper handling of contaminated, heavily soiled, delicate, damaged, or specialized textiles.
- Maintain high standards of personal hygiene, workplace cleanliness, sanitation, and housekeeping within laundry areas.
- Ensure compliance with applicable health, safety, environmental, hygiene, and chemical-handling requirements.
- Conduct workplace risk assessments and implement appropriate controls for machinery, chemicals, heat, steam, lifting, and wet-floor hazards.
- Maintain emergency procedures for equipment failures, utility interruptions, chemical incidents, fires, and other operational disruptions.
- Monitor linen turnaround times and ensure departments receive required items according to agreed schedules.
- Establish quality-control checks at receiving, processing, finishing, storage, and dispatch stages.
- Manage textile repairs, alterations, damage assessment, and replacement programs.
- Investigate recurring linen damage, shrinkage, staining, discoloration, and premature textile deterioration.
- Coordinate outsourced laundry services when internal capacity is insufficient or external processing is required.
- Monitor external laundry providers against quality, turnaround, hygiene, cost, and service-level requirements.
- Maintain accurate laundry records, production reports, inventory records, chemical usage, maintenance logs, and quality reports.
- Develop operational dashboards covering production volume, productivity, quality, costs, inventory, and equipment performance.
- Conduct regular laundry audits and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Support procurement and textile-selection decisions by evaluating durability, quality, lifecycle cost, and operational suitability.
- Identify opportunities for automation, energy efficiency, water conservation, smart laundry systems, and process optimization.
- Support sustainability initiatives including water reduction, energy efficiency, chemical optimization, textile reuse, and responsible waste management.
