Position Overview

The Senior Software Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software solutions that support the company's core products and business objectives, particularly in the areas of Wireless technologies, CRM, and prototype systems. This role combines hands-on coding with stakeholder engagement, technical leadership, and mentoring of junior team members.

The position requires a balance of strong technical expertise, industry awareness, and communication skills to manage stakeholder expectations, drive product innovation and ensure the stability of key business functions. The Senior Software Developer will also act as a point of technical escalation for complex issues in software and telephony systems and have a strong desire to adopt new AI technology into the software delivery process.

Key Responsibilities

Software Development & Delivery

  1. Design, develop, and maintain complex software systems with scalability, performance, and security in mind.

  2. Deliver solutions across front-end and back-end technologies, including VoIP systems, CRM systems telephony billing, and prototype hardware/software integration.

  3. Contribute to the full software delivery lifecycle, from requirements gathering and specification through to development, testing, deployment, and support.

  4. Ensure coding standards, documentation, and best practices are maintained.

  5. Adopt new AI technology safely and efficiently.

Team Support

  1. Provide mentorship, guidance, and third-level support for junior developers.

  2. Support recruitment, onboarding, and training of development team members.

  3. Act as the highest point of escalation for software or telephony-related issues.

  4. Promote a culture of collaboration, openness, and proactive problem-solving within the team.

Stakeholder & Supplier Management

  1. Work closely with senior management, product owners, and major stakeholders to ensure requirements are understood, prioritised, and delivered effectively.

  2. Communicate technical progress, risks, and issues clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  3. Manage relationships with third-party suppliers and customers, including negotiation and ongoing engagement.

Innovation & Continuous Improvement

  1. Research emerging technologies and recommend innovative solutions.

  2. Stay up to date with advances in AI, DevOps, and industry trends relevant to software development and related tooling.

  3. Contribute to the development of tools, environments, and processes that improve delivery effectiveness.

Key Skills and Experience Technical Skills

  1. Strong expertise in software development across front-end and back-end technologies (e.g., JavaScript/TypeScript, PHP, Python, , databases).

  2. Knowledge of software/electronic product prototyping and integration with hardware systems.

  3. Familiarity with microservices, containers, and CI/CD practices.

  4. Background knowledge of cybersecurity principles.

  5. Ability to resolve software, electrical, or mechanical issues.

  6. Experience in VoIP development, telephony billing systems, and wireless networks would be a plus

Experience

  1. 5+ years' experience in software development.

  2. Experience managing senior stakeholder expectations and working to tight deadlines.

  3. Previous involvement in recruitment, training, and mentoring of development staff.

  4. Experience introducing new technologies and methodologies into delivery processes.

  5. Experience of coaching or mentoring other developers would be beneficial.

  6. Experience of AI tooling is a plus

  1. Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex issues to diverse audiences.

  2. Analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage escalations effectively.

  3. Adaptability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

  • A Master's degree is a plus.

Salary: Competitive, based on experience and qualifications.
