Job Summary

The
Senior Power BI Developer
will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining business intelligence solutions that empower data-driven decision-making across the organization. This role involves collaborating closely with business stakeholders, data engineers, and analysts to transform raw data into interactive, insightful, and scalable Power BI dashboards and reports. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in data modeling, DAX, SQL, and visualization best practices, along with a strategic mindset for improving BI processes and governance.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain complex Power BI dashboards and reports to support business objectives.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather, analyze, and translate business requirements into BI solutions.
• Develop and optimize data models, measures, and calculations using DAX and Power Query (M).
• Ensure data accuracy, reliability, and consistency across all reporting layers.
• Integrate Power BI with various data sources including SQL Server, Azure Data Lake, APIs, and other enterprise systems.
• Implement and maintain data security, access controls, and role-level permissions within Power BI Service.
• Drive best practices in BI visualization, performance optimization, and user experience design.
• Mentor junior developers and contribute to BI development standards, documentation, and version control.
• Collaborate with IT and data teams to ensure data pipelines and ETL processes support analytical needs.
• Stay current on Power BI updates, new features, and BI trends to continuously improve reporting capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related field. Masters or PH.D is a plus.
• 7+ years of hands-on experience developing in Power BI, including Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service.
• Strong proficiency in
  DAX

  Power Query (M)

  SQL
  for building optimized and scalable models.
• Experience with
  data warehousing concepts

  star/snowflake schema

  ETL processes
  .
• Knowledge of
  Azure and AWS data ecosystem
  (Data Factory, Synapse, Data Lake) is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of
  data visualization principles
  and storytelling with data.
• Familiarity with source control (Git), CI/CD pipelines, and deployment best practices for BI assets.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Power BI or Microsoft Data Analyst certification.
