The Commis Chef plays a key role in supporting the kitchen team by assisting in food preparation, cooking, and maintaining high standards of quality, hygiene, and efficiency. In a fast-paced restaurant and café environment, the Commis Chef ensures that all dishes are prepared according to recipes, presented consistently, and delivered on time during busy service periods.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of ingredients (chopping, marinating, portioning, etc.) for daily service.
- Cook and plate dishes following the restaurant's recipes and standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen at all times, including workstations, equipment, and storage areas.
- Follow proper food safety, handling, and storage procedures.
- Support senior chefs by completing assigned tasks efficiently and accurately.
- Ensure stock levels are maintained; report low items to supervisors.
- Assist with receiving, labeling, and storing food deliveries.
- Work effectively as part of a team during high-volume service periods.
- Maintain consistency, portion control, and quality for all menu items.
- Follow instructions from the Head Chef, Sous Chef, and Chef de Partie.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: AED2, AED2,500.00 per month
