Employment Type: Permanent, Paid Hourly

Hours: Saturdays during term-time only, 9:00am – 1:00pm

Start Date: Saturday, 4 April

Position Summary

Rockstar Academy is seeking an experienced Academy Manager with a strong background in performing arts education to oversee the effective operation, safeguarding, and quality assurance of its performing arts training institution.

This is a non-teaching leadership role. The Academy Manager will supervise all teaching staff, ensure high artistic and educational standards, maintain full compliance with KHDA and UAE regulations, and ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the academy.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Operations

  • Oversee daily academy operations to ensure efficient and professional delivery of all programs
  • Manage and supervise all performing arts teaching staff
  • Ensure staff adhere to professional, artistic, and educational standards
  • Act as the main operational point of contact for parents and internal teams

Quality Assurance (Performing Arts)

  • Maintain and monitor teaching quality across music, dance, and theatre programs
  • Ensure classes meet approved curricula and artistic standards
  • Conduct lesson observations and staff performance reviews
  • Support continuous improvement in artistic delivery and student outcomes

Safeguarding & Child Protection

  • Ensure full compliance with child protection and safeguarding policies
  • Act as (or support) the academy's safeguarding lead
  • Ensure safeguarding training, reporting procedures, and conduct standards are followed
  • Maintain a safe, secure, and supportive learning environment for all students

Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure compliance with KHDA, DED, and UAE education regulations
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation for inspections and audits
  • Support KHDA inspections and regulatory reviews
  • Ensure health, safety, and risk management procedures are implemented

Reporting & Communication

  • Provide regular operational and performance reports to senior management
  • Escalate safeguarding, compliance, or quality concerns promptly
  • Support strategic planning and academy growth initiatives

Requirements

  • Proven experience in performing arts education (music, dance, theatre, or similar)
  • Experience in academy or school management
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection
  • Demonstrated experience managing teaching staff
  • Excellent organisational and leadership skills
  • Experience working within a regulated education environment

Desirable

  • Previous role as Head of Department, Academic Manager, or Programme Manager in performing arts
  • Experience supporting KHDA inspections
  • Safeguarding Lead or equivalent certification
