Job Purpose

The Corporate Sales & Events Officer supports the development and delivery of corporate sales and events at the Velodrome. The role focuses on excellence in event management, sales growth, and effective marketing initiatives.

This position assists Event Managers and Coordinators with administrative, operational, and on-site tasks to ensure seamless and professional event delivery. The role also supports the Marketing Team in executing marketing strategies for corporate, private, and commercial bookings, including the planning of activations and community campaigns.

All duties must be carried out in full compliance with Modon's policies and procedures, including Health & Safety, Standing Orders, Financial Regulations, and sustainability and environmental guidelines.

Roles, Responsibilities & Duties

Event Management & Delivery

  • Assist in planning, coordinating, and executing corporate events (conferences, seminars, product launches, gala dinners) from concept to completion.
  • Promote and showcase the Velodrome through sports events, exhibitions, and corporate activations.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to all hirers, ensuring needs are met to the highest standards.
  • Lead venue setup and breakdown, including signage, materials preparation, and room layout.
  • Maintain strong customer relationships through clear and professional communication.
  • Track event inventory, supplies, equipment, and conduct site inspections and risk assessments.
  • Coordinate with internal teams (venue, AV, catering, logistics, marketing) and external vendors.
  • Supervise event build-up, breakdown, and act as the point of contact for staff, vendors, and clients.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and operational requirements.
  • Conduct venue inspections, deliver pre-event briefings, and resolve issues promptly.
  • Oversee on-site event execution and operations team supervision.
  • Collect feedback and measure event success to support continuous improvement.
  • Prepare post-event reports, including financial reconciliation and analysis.
  • Liaise with Hudayriyat Sport staff and other Modon facilities as required.

Event Sales

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities for venue bookings (schools, academies, birthday parties).
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with sports providers, schools, DMCs, and event agencies.
  • Support preparation of proposals, RFPs, and pitch presentations tailored to client requirements.
  • Represent Modon at industry events, trade exhibitions, and networking opportunities.
  • Achieve or exceed defined sales targets, contributing to business growth.
  • Understand and coordinate all required permits, licenses, and documentation for event delivery.

Marketing

  • Collaborate with the Marketing Team to develop and execute marketing strategies and campaigns to drive awareness and bookings.
  • Support media and business administration activities including content creation, promotional materials, social media, and website updates.
  • Assist with proofreading, data entry, CRM updates, and reporting.
  • Contribute to the planning and execution of community campaigns and venue activations to increase Velodrome visibility.

Qualification Requirements

  • Related university degree and/or relevant vocational qualification.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in sports event delivery.
  • Understanding of event operating models and sport industry standards.
  • Fluency in English; additional languages are an advantage.

Experience & Competencies

  • Experience working in high-performance sports and event environments.
  • Working knowledge of Health & Safety standards.
  • Understanding of safeguarding protocols.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple concurrent events.
  • Proficient in administrative and event-related software tools.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
