Key Responsibilities

  • Implement corporate HSE policies, project HSE plans, and applicable HSE legislation across project sites
  • Monitor HSE performance and targets, recommending corrective actions and improvement measures
  • Ensure full compliance with client safety requirements at all stages of construction
  • Coordinate with safety managers and contractors to enhance implementation of corporate HSE management practices
  • Monitor contractor activities to ensure adherence to legal, contractual, and client safety obligations
  • Review contractor site safety plans, emergency response plans, and other safety documentation
  • Review method statements and risk assessments for construction activities and monitor effectiveness of control measures
  • Conduct regular HSE inspections and report findings to the Resident Engineer for immediate corrective action
  • Review and assess contractors monthly HSE reports and inspection records
  • Conduct monthly safety meetings, set corrective targets, prepare minutes, and follow up on outstanding actions
  • Review emergency preparedness procedures, permit-to-work systems, toolbox talks, and HSE statistics
  • Review incident and accident investigation reports, communicate lessons learned, and monitor implementation of preventive actions

Desired Candidate Profile

Bachelor s degree in Occupational Safety and Health or a construction-related engineering discipline

  • Minimum eight years of experience as a Safety Engineer on highway, bridge, and underpass projects within the UAE
  • Recognized health and safety certifications such as NEBOSH IGC, Safety Diploma, First Aid, and Fire Safety
  • Strong working knowledge of UAE Federal Laws, Dubai Municipality Construction Safety Codes, RTA circulars, technical guidelines, and Work Zone Traffic Management Manual
  • Ability to attend in-person interviews within the UAE
  • Strong attention to detail and proactive approach to site safety management
