The Role

Lead the development and implementation of category channel strategies for the full portfolio across all channels and markets, integrating category growth strategies with channel execution plans to maximize revenue, profitability, and competitive advantage. This role acts as the strategic bridge between the category team (key agencies, category and brand managers) and customer-facing channel teams, ensuring that innovation, pricing, promotions, and brand priorities are translated into differentiated channel and customer value propositions. Responsible for driving insight-led planning and alignment, commercial performance management, and execution excellence across the UAE and international markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead annual commercial planning cycles, aligning category strategies with channel and customer need.
  • Translate category vision and brand priorities into channel-specific growth strategies and execution roadmaps.
  • Act as the "voice of category" in channel decision-making AND the "voice of channel" in category planning.
  • Partner with channel heads to develop tailored commercial plans for On-Trade, Retail, E-commerce, Travel Retail, and Diplomatic channels.
  • Lead Joint Business Planning (JBP) incorporating customer data, category drivers and innovation pipelines.
  • Lead the development of an insight-driven portfolio strategy for each channel
  • Partner with category heads and Commercial Finance on pricing, margin optimization, cost inflation response and harmonization of commercial terms
  • Lead cross-channel promotional planning to drive consistency, ROI and amplification of channel activation campaigns. Lead a high-performing commercial planning and channel strategy team.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • 15+ years of commercial leadership in FMCG, beverages, or related consumer goods sectors.
  • Proven track record of delivering commercial results through channel and trade development.
  • Strong understanding of on-trade and retail channels within the UAE market.
  • Experience in revenue management, P&L accountability, and joint business planning.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
  • Strong leadership and ability to influence across a matrix organization.

Desirable Skills

  • Liquor or premium beverage industry experience.
  • Experience in digital, ecommerce, and omnichannel retail strategies.
  • International market exposure.
