Data Governance Specialist

Strategic Governance

• Lead the definition, rollout, and continuous improvement of data governance policies, standards, and procedures in alignment with DAMA, PDPL, GDPR, and Abu Dhabi DGE mandates.
• Support the design and enforcement of the DCT Data Governance Operating Model, ensuring clear RACI roles for Data Owners, Stewards, and Custodians.
• Partner with senior stakeholders to embed governance practices into strategic initiatives (e.g., Tourism Analytics, Data Marketplace, AI Governance).

Data Quality & Metadata Management

• Develop and maintain DCT's enterprise Data Quality Framework, including KPIs, Scorecards, and automated monitoring.
• Define, implement, and monitor profiling and data quality rules execution via Informatica Data Quality.
• Collaborate with business units to identify root causes of data issues, recommend preventive measures, and execute remediation.
• Lead the metadata cataloging and curation of datasets in Informatica Cloud Data Governance & Catalog (CDGC), including metadata enrichment, glossary alignment, and lineage documentation

Lineage, Catalog, and Data Marketplace Enablement

• Oversee end-to-end lineage capture for critical datasets across Medalion layers (Bronze, Silver, and Gold) within DWH DataHub - Azure Synapse, ADLS Gen2, and Informatica or Synapse pipelines.
• Facilitate dataset publishing to the Data Marketplace / Exchange, ensuring quality, discoverability, and compliance.
• Drive standardization of asset groups, domains, and reference IDs.
• Representing the Data Governance Unit in Data Governance Committee meetings.
• Preparing monthly/quarterly KPI dashboards (e.g., catalog coverage %, data quality index, compliance score).
• Supporting data governance audit and performance review cycles.

Core Competencies

• Ensure adequate controls are in place to safeguard data assets via integrative approach in data access management within Informatica CDCG
• Data lineage completion, schema review, and reporting
• Facilitate the completion of data lineage including application data flows, review of database schema, tables and data elements, key extracts and reports, as required, leveraging extract and upload capabilities within the Informatica CDCG
• Must have implemented data sourcing from structured and nonstructured, online and offline sources and implemented data governance controls on the same
• Concepts of Data Governance and Advanced Analytics are preferred
• Should be equipped with the knowledge regarding the laws and trends of the Data Policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent is a must
• Master's in Business Administration preferred
• Minimum 7 years in enterprise data management, governance, or information management roles.
• At least 2 years hands-on implementation experience with Informatica Cloud Data Governance & Quality.
• Professional certifications: CDMP (DAMA), Informatica, Azure, or equivalent (preferred).
• Technical certifications in platforms such as Microsoft Azure, Informatica, Power BI, or similar is preferred
• Ability to work independently as well as part of client, IT and business teams
• Experience with data privacy and security regulations (e.g. GDPR) is a plus
• Knowledge of data governance practices, business and technology issues related to management of enterprise information assets and approaches related to data protection
• Knowledge of data related government regulatory requirements and emerging trends and issues
