Description

We are seeking an accomplished
Principal Petroleum Engineer
to lead reservoir management and field development strategies for major assets in the Gulf region. The role combines deep technical expertise with strong commercial judgment, ensuring optimal recovery and asset performance. You'll collaborate closely with subsurface, drilling, and production teams, guiding decisions that shape long-term field value. As a senior technical leader, you'll mentor engineers, uphold best practices, and contribute to strategic investment planning.

Requirements

  • 15+ years
    of petroleum engineering experience, ideally progressing to a lead or advisory role.
  • Degree in Petroleum or related Engineering discipline;
    a Master's is preferred — equivalent experience valued.
  • Expertise in
    reservoir simulation and classical reservoir engineering
    (ECLIPSE, INTERSECT, etc.).
  • Proven track record in
    field development planning
    and
    reservoir management.
  • Strong grasp of
    petroleum economics
    and
    risk-based decision-making.
  • Experience leading
    multidisciplinary upstream teams.
  • Hands-on depth in
    production optimization, well design,
    or
    EOR/IOR projects.
  • Passion for mentoring and maintaining high technical standards.

Desirable

  • Familiarity with the
    Gulf region's upstream operations.
  • Understanding of
    commercial drivers
    and
    market dynamics.
  • Experience presenting technical and financial recommendations to management.
  • Exposure to
    digital oilfield
    and
    data-driven optimization
    tools.
  • Work experience in both
    operator and service company
    settings.
