We now seek a fully experienced Principal Engineer to be based in our Dubai office.

• Responsible for the running of large scale projects. Undertakes a client facing role in the development and design and coordination of engineering project services for Mechanical or Electrical installations, systems, equipment, facilities etc.
• Develops and specifies applications of controls, instruments, and operating systems for all building engineering services purposes.
• Surveys, tests, carries out dilapidation reports on existing mechanical installations.
• Prepare technical specifications to ensure that manufacturing, construction, installation, and operational testing confirm to functional specifications and customer requirements.
• Day to day decision making on project progress and direct liaison with and provides advice to client.
• Represents Company at technical meetings with customers, professional teams and contractors teams.
• Ensures engineering calculations and drawings meet required robust industry and legal standards.
• Leads on the coordination of engineering services.
• Takes a holistic view in the selection and application of engineering concepts and solutions.

• BSc/BEng or degree in appropriate engineering discipline desirable or have sufficient equivalent experience
• MCIBSE/MIEE or HNC/HND plus appropriate experience or equivalent
• Chartered Eng status or equivalent desirable
• Data centre experience preferred
• Significant experience of specification design for several building types
• Experience in development and implementation of design management tools and procedures
• Proven experience in excess of 7 years, working alongside design teams with a solid understanding and empathy of the design process. Experience of working in a team environment is essential.
• Good understanding relevant codes and standards.
• Good understanding of local permitting procedures and submission requirements.
• Enthusiastic, driven and dynamic self-starter with career progression aspirations.
• Ability to forge strong client and supplier relationships
• Ability to keep clear and accurate records and reports
• Ability to mentor and develop and team to achieve project and business goals
• Ability to contributing to the growth of the business via business development
• Ability to work well either alone or as part of a team under own initiative
• Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the design process
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word/Excel Outlook/PowerPoint)
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Project or similar Project Programming Tools
• Ability to use IT based calculation and spreadsheet software
• Appreciation & working knowledge of contract law
• Proven project and design programming skills
• Adaptable, proactive approach to tasks
• Flexible and willing to travel regularly to service international projects and customers
• Client facing with strong presentation skills
• Ability to work autonomously, as part of a wider team, and leading a team
• Ability to prioritise own workload and work to deadlines
• Sound knowledge & working application of key health and safety issues and legislation
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Possess exceptional clear communication skills spoken/written
• Chairing/facilitation of meetings
• Good understanding of UAE and European Standards/UAE Regulations/Codes
• Act in an ethical manner and follows the principles of the Ethics Charter and Ethics in Practice Guidelines
