Project Manager

The Role

Our International Project Management & Engineering consultancy client has a new requirement for a well experienced consultant Project Manager - Roads & Infrastructure to join their team in Abu Dhabi, UAE to work on infrastructure and transportation projects. Successful candidates will have a proven background as a Project Manager on large scale civil infrastructure, roads and highways projects in the UAE and the wider GCC. This role is available for immediate joining and is a direct hire, permanent opportunity employed by our client. Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee and monitor infrastructure contractors and sub-contractors' activities to ensure successful completion of delivery as per contracts' requirements, specifications and timelines.
• Manage day-to-day on site operations and advise on technical, logistical and administrative issues in order to ensure seamless infrastructure assets delivery.
• Lead the planning and implementation of project activities to ensure successful delivery of projects.
• Define project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business objectives in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
• Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, milestones, resource allocation, and budgets.
• Coordinate cross-functional team members and external partners to ensure all aspects of each project are executed smoothly and efficiently.
• Monitor project progress and performance, identifying and mitigating risks and issues as they arise.
• Conduct regular project status meetings, providing updates to stakeholders and ensuring alignment with project objectives.
• Ensure all project documentation is maintained, including project charters, plans, schedules, and reports.
• Foster a culture of collaboration and teamwork, encouraging open communication and knowledge sharing among team members.
• Utilize project management tools and software to track progress, manage resources, and report on key performance indicators.
• Continuously evaluate project outcomes and implement improvements for future projects, ensuring lessons learned are documented and shared.
• Lead periodic meetings with the infrastructure contractors and sub-contractors' planning teams in order to ensure successful completion of delivery as per contracts' requirements, specifications and timelines, and in synergy with all assets of the portfolio.
• Lead periodic meetings with the development teams to ensure coordination and continuous reflection of design changes when required.
• Lead periodic meetings with the construction teams to ensure coordination and discuss issues and potential improvements of construction methods and logistics.
• Lead periodic meetings with Government representatives to ensure smooth delivery in terms of legal matters.
• Manage quality assurance programs in coordination with PMO in order to ensure delivery in accordance with agreed quality standards.
• Manage Health, safety and Environment (HSE) programs in coordination with PMO to ensure workers safety and compliance with HSE construction requirements.
• Develop weekly and monthly progress reports including but not limited to progress made in each key area, analysis of progress against the overall program, explanation of delay causes, analysis of KPIs and assessment of quality issues in order to provide the program direction with a clear view of progress.
• Provide the Project Controls teams with detailed risk registers, cost reports, schedule reports and general documentation to ensure accurate project control
• Well versed with Local Authorities (ADM) regulations and procedures in obtaining NOC's and approvals

Requirements

Project Manager - Infrastructure & Transportation Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field; PMP certification is a plus.
• Proven experience as a Project Manager or in a similar role, with a track record of successfully managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Experience not less than 12-15 years, at least 3 in the UAE.
• Experience of ADM / DMT projects is preferred.
• Strong understanding of project management methodologies and best practices.
• Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide cross-functional teams.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
• Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to overcoming project challenges.
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
• Proficiency in project management software and tools (e.g., MS Project, Asana, Trello) and Microsoft Office Suite.
