PAYMENTS INTEGRATION ARCHITECT

THE OPPORTUNITY

Architect real-time payment systems, card processing, switching, and ISO8583-based integrations for GCC financial institutions. Design secure, resilient, high-performance payment architectures supporting card payments, POS/ATM networks, and digital channels.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

·      Architect real-time payment flows: authorization, clearing, settlement, reconciliation

·      Design ISO8583, ISO20022, and proprietary message specifications

·      Integrate with issuers, acquirers, PSPs, card networks, switches, and gateways

·      Ensure low-latency, fault-tolerant, high-throughput design for mission-critical transactions

·      Define routing logic, message validation, and transaction orchestration

·      Collaborate with backend engineering teams on implementation and testing

·      Produce detailed technical designs, mapping sheets, and sequence diagrams

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Technical Expertise

· years in payments, card processing, switching, or financial transactions

·      Strong backend engineering background (Java/Spring Boot preferred)

·      Hands-on ISO8583 message parsing, packing, and validation

·      Experience with card scheme integrations (Visa, Mastercard, mada, Meeza, Benefit)

·      Experience with HSM integration, PIN translation, encryption, EMV specifications

·      Knowledge of gRPC, REST, OAuth2, OIDC, JWT

·      Familiarity with API Gateways (Kong is a plus)

·      Experience with Kafka/EventHub for payment events

·      Experience with POS/ATM protocols, digital wallets, payment rails

Security & Architecture

·      Deep understanding of PCI-DSS, encryption, tokenization, secure messaging

·      Ensure resilience, failover, idempotency, and observability across payment flows

·      Define NFRs for low latency, throughput, and high availability

Domain Knowledge (Nice to Have)

·      Deep understanding of card lifecycle, authorization flows, clearing & settlement

·      Knowledge of GCC regional payment rails and switching platforms
