Summary of Role
The Sales and Marketing Manager is responsible for leading the company's sales and marketing divisions, overseeing all advertising, promotional, and sales activities for paints and decorative product lines. This individual will develop and implement strategic plans, manage a team of professionals, and build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders to achieve revenue goals and increase market share.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategy Development:
Develop and execute comprehensive sales and marketing strategies and action plans to achieve strategic objectives and drive business growth. - Team Leadership & Management:
Lead, mentor, and motivate the sales and marketing teams, setting clear performance expectations, providing training, and fostering a high-performance culture. - Market Analysis:
Conduct market research to identify potential opportunities, analyze customer trends, monitor competitor activities, and gather data-driven insights to inform strategies. - Sales & Business Development:
Identify and pursue new business opportunities, particularly within project sales (e.g., developers, architects, contractors, interior designers) and the retail dealer network. - Marketing Campaigns:
Plan and manage multi-channel advertising and promotional campaigns (digital, social media, events, trade shows, etc.) to enhance brand recognition and product awareness. - Client Relationship Management:
Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key clients, dealers, and distributors, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and loyalty. - Budgeting & Reporting:
Prepare and manage annual sales and marketing budgets, track performance metrics, and present regular reports and forecasts to senior management. - Product Knowledge:
Maintain expert knowledge of the company's paint and coating products, including features, benefits, and appropriate applications, to effectively guide the sales team and customers. - Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Coordinate with other departments, such as supply chain, technical support, and product development, to ensure seamless project execution and consistent brand messaging.
Qualifications & Skills
- Education:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field (MBA is a plus). - Experience:
A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in sales and marketing, with proven experience in a managerial or leadership role, preferably within the paint or building materials industry. - Leadership:
Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team. - Communication:
Excellent verbal and written communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. - Technical Skills:
Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce), Microsoft Office Suite, and an understanding of digital marketing tools and analytics. - Personal Attributes:
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities; a results-oriented, proactive, and adaptable mindset; and a commitment to achieving goals.
