Head Chef & Baker - New Deli Concept

We are looking for a
culinary visionary who can bridge the gap between traditional Levantine flavors and modern deli culture.

Spin-off from Oomi

We are launching a new deli and bakery concept, with a levantine twist. The goal is to incorporate familiar flavors, like pickles, labneh and so on, into an Italian-styled Deli.

Oomi is a homegrown specialty coffee and matcha brand created for students and young professionals. We've launched our first café at the American University in Dubai, and we're expanding with new branches across the city. Our vision is simple: to be the daily coffee ritual that connects people, cultures, and ideas.

The Role

We are seeking a Head Chef who doesn't just know how to bake, but understands the "soul" of Arab hospitality. You will be the creative engine behind our kitchen, responsible for crafting a top-notch menu that celebrates rich heritage while pushing the boundaries of contemporary bakery and deli trends.

The Role

As our Head Chef, you will lead the charge in developing a unique menu that spans from stone-baked breads to high-end deli offerings and refined Arabic pastries. We are looking for someone who treats every manousheh, sourdough loaf, and mezze plate as a masterpiece.

Key Responsibilities

  • Menu Engineering: Design and execute a "top-notch" menu that integrates traditional Arab flavors with modern deli concepts.
  • Artisanal Baking: Oversee the production of high-quality breads, pastries, and signature baked goods.
  • Sourcing & Quality: Establish relationships with premium suppliers to ensure only the finest local and imported ingredients are used.
  • Kitchen Leadership: Mentor, train, and manage a high-performing back-of-house team, fostering a culture of excellence and respect.
  • Consistency & Innovation: Ensure every dish meets our exacting standards while constantly experimenting with seasonal specials and new techniques.

Who You Are

  • The Culture Expert: You have a deep-rooted understanding of Arab culinary traditions, flavor profiles, and the cultural significance of food in the region.
  • The Artisan: You have a proven track record in professional baking and deli management. You understand the science of dough and the art of the perfect sandwich.
  • The Creative: You don't just follow recipes; you create them. You stay ahead of global food trends and know how to translate them for our local audience.
  • The Professional: You have at least 5+ years of experience in a leadership role within a high-end bakery, cafe, or restaurant environment.
