Job Purpose

The Contract Manager is responsible for managing, administering, and controlling all contractual aspects of construction projects, ensuring compliance with contract terms, minimizing contractual risks, and safeguarding the company's commercial and legal interests throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Contract Administration

  • Administer construction contracts in accordance with contract conditions, company policies, and applicable laws.
  • Ensure timely issuance and review of contractual notices, instructions, and correspondence.
  • Interpret contract terms and provide guidance to project teams on contractual obligations and entitlements.

Commercial & Claims Management

  • Manage variations, extensions of time (EOT), claims, counterclaims, and final accounts.
  • Evaluate subcontractor and client claims, assess contractual entitlement, and recommend appropriate actions.
  • Support preparation, negotiation, and settlement of claims and disputes.

Risk & Compliance

  • Identify contractual risks and propose mitigation measures at all project stages.
  • Ensure compliance with contract provisions, statutory requirements, and industry standards.
  • Maintain proper contractual records and documentation for audits and dispute resolution.

Subcontract Management

  • Review, negotiate, and administer subcontract agreements.
  • Monitor subcontractor performance in line with contractual terms.
  • Ensure alignment between main contract and subcontract obligations.

Coordination & Reporting

  • Coordinate with project managers, commercial teams, legal advisors, and consultants.
  • Provide regular reports on contract status, risks, variations, and claims.
  • Support project close-out activities including final account settlement.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering
    , Quantity Surveying,
    or a related field.
  • 8–12 years
    of relevant experience in contract management within construction projects (buildings/infrastructure).
  • Strong knowledge of
    FIDIC, POMI and bespoke contracts
    .
  • Experience in claims management, EOTs, and dispute resolution.
  • UAE/GCC project experience preferred.
