Whizz HR is hiring for Senior MEP Engineer – Construction Industry

Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced
Senior MEP Engineer
to lead and manage all Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing works across construction projects. The ideal candidate should have strong technical expertise, a solid background in building construction, and the ability to coordinate seamlessly between design teams, site teams, consultants, and subcontractors. This role ensures all MEP systems are delivered to the highest quality, within budget, and on schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

Design & Technical Review

  • Review, analyze, and approve MEP design drawings, shop drawings, and material submittals.
  • Ensure MEP designs comply with project specifications, construction standards, and authority regulations.
  • Conduct technical evaluations and recommend value engineering options for cost-effective solutions.

Project Coordination

  • Coordinate MEP activities with civil, architectural, and structural teams to avoid clashes and delays.
  • Attend technical and coordination meetings with consultants, contractors, and clients.
  • Liaise with authorities (DEWA, DCD, Municipality, etc.) for submissions and approvals.

Site Supervision

  • Oversee MEP installation, testing, and commissioning at site for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, drainage, fire-fighting, and ELV systems.
  • Ensure all work is executed as per approved drawings, method statements, and safety standards.
  • Monitor daily and weekly site progress and address technical issues promptly.

Project Management

  • Prepare and follow up on project schedules for MEP activities.
  • Manage material procurement lists, resource planning, and subcontractor performance.
  • Verify and approve subcontractor works, invoices, and variations.
  • Ensure project milestones and handover requirements are achieved on time.

Quality & Safety

  • Implement quality control measures across all MEP work streams.
  • Conduct site inspections, ensure proper documentation, and maintain compliance with QA/QC processes.
  • Ensure all MEP works are carried out in accordance with HSE guidelines.

Leadership

  • Supervise and mentor junior engineers, draftsmen, and site supervisors.
  • Provide engineering guidance and support to the site team.
  • Maintain effective communication between project stakeholders at all stages.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • 8–15+ years of experience
    in MEP engineering within the
    construction industry
    (buildings, commercial, residential, industrial projects).
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical power systems, plumbing, drainage, fire protection, and ELV systems.
  • Excellent understanding of construction sequencing, site constraints, and MEP coordination challenges.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Office, and MEP design software; Revit experience is an advantage.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with UAE authority approval procedures (preferred).
  • Valid UAE driving license (advantageous).
