Head of Engineering Role Overview

We are seeking an accomplished Head of Engineering to lead the full technical vision, strategy, and execution of a multi-service digital platform that will scale across multiple business verticals and product lines. This role reports directly to the Founder and works closely with executive leadership to translate business goals into high-performing, reliable, and scalable technology solutions.

You will be responsible for architecting, building, and scaling a complex ecosystem of interconnected applications, driving end-to-end delivery from architecture design to production rollout while establishing a world-class engineering organization.

This position requires a visionary leader who is deeply technical, execution-focused, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-accountability startup environment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Technical Leadership & Architecture

• Define and own the overall technical architecture and engineering roadmap of the platform.
• Design and implement scalable, modular systems and microservices architecture capable of supporting multiple product domains.
• Ensure best-in-class performance, reliability, and security across web and mobile platforms.
• Establish standards for API management, data flow, real-time systems, and integrations with third-party services.
• Oversee infrastructure, DevOps, and cloud architecture to support continuous deployment and observability.2. Engineering Delivery & Product Execution
• Drive full product lifecycle from ideation and MVP design to global rollout and iteration.
• Lead multiple product engineering streams with agile, high-velocity delivery models.
• Partner with Product, Design, and Business teams to align technical decisions withstrategic priorities.

• Ensure code quality, scalability, and maintainability through structured development and testing practices.

• Team Building & Organizational Leadership

• Build and mentor a high-performing engineering team from the ground up.

• Define clear career paths, accountability frameworks, and ownership culture.
• Implement engineering best practices, including CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and secure-by-design principles.
• Foster collaboration, speed, and innovation within a lean and empowered engineering structure.4. Security, Compliance & Operations
• Champion data protection, compliance, and privacy across all products.
• Establish and monitor SLAs, uptime, and system reliability metrics.
• Build strong governance around deployment, change management, and production incident response.
• Implement robust monitoring, logging, and risk mitigation processes for mission-critical systems.5. Strategic Vision & Growth Enablement
• Work with leadership to define the technical evolution roadmap aligned with business scalability goals.
• Plan for future expansion through modular and API-first design principles.
• Evaluate and integrate cutting-edge technologies including AI, analytics, and automation to strengthen the product ecosystem.
• Represent technology strategy in leadership discussions, ensuring alignment between innovation and business growth.Qualifications & Experience
• 15+ years of professional software engineering experience, with at least 5 years in senior leadership (Head of Engineering, CTO, or equivalent).
• Proven success in building or scaling large, multi-product technology ecosystems or platform-based businesses.
• Deep expertise in microservices architecture, distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, and DevOps.
• Proficiency in backend technologies (e.g., , Go, Python) and modern frontend/mobile frameworks (React, Flutter, or similar).
• Experience managing high-volume, real-time applications and complex integrations.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD, cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure), API design, and security frameworks.
• Excellent leadership, stakeholder communication, and cross-functional alignment skills.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field; MBA or startup experience is a plus.
