Key Responsibilities

  • Category Strategy:
    Develop and execute a comprehensive category strategy for coffee products (including beans, ground coffee, capsules, and accessories) based on market analysis, consumer insights, and competitive landscape in the UAE.
  • Performance & P&L Management:
    Own the category's financial performance, including managing sales, margins, inventory, and profitability. Identify opportunities for cost optimization and revenue growth.
  • Product Portfolio Management:
    Manage the entire product lifecycle from ideation to discontinuation. This includes range reviews, SKU rationalization, and identifying gaps for new product introduction (NPI).
  • Pricing & Promotion:
    Determine optimal pricing strategies in line with market dynamics and brand positioning. Plan and execute effective promotional activities to drive sales volume and market share.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration:
    Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Supply Chain, Operations, and
    Sales
    , to ensure alignment and effective execution of category plans.
  • Market Analysis:
    Continuously monitor local and international coffee industry trends, consumer behavior, and competitor activities to maintain a leading edge.
  • Supplier Relationship Management:
    (Where applicable) Collaborate with coffee suppliers and roasters to ensure product quality, favorable terms, and reliable supply.

Essential Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience:
    2-3 years of proven experience in Category Management, Product Management, or a related commercial role within the FMCG or Retail sector, specifically focusing on the coffee industry.
  • Coffee Industry Knowledge (MUST HAVE):
    Exceptional and demonstrable knowledge
    of the global and regional coffee industry, including different bean varieties, roasting profiles, brewing methods, and current market trends (e.g., specialty coffee, sustainability).
  • Analytical Skills:
    Strong ability to analyze complex data (sales, market share, consumer data) to draw actionable insights and make informed decisions. Proficiency in using standard business intelligence tools.
  • Commercial Acumen:
    Deep understanding of retail dynamics, gross margin drivers, and pricing strategies.
  • Communication:
    Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Arabic is a plus.

Desired Attributes (A Plus)

  • Sales Experience:
    Direct experience in a
    Sales
    role within the FMCG or HORECA coffee channel is highly advantageous, providing a practical understanding of trade execution and customer engagement.
  • UAE/MENA Market Experience:
    Prior working experience in the UAE or the wider Middle East market.
  • Education:
    Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
