Position Summary

The Accounts & Taxation Accountant is responsible for managing daily accounting operations, ensuring compliance with UAE VAT and Corporate Tax regulations, and supporting financial reporting activities. The role includes maintaining accurate financial records, preparing statutory tax filings, assisting with audits, and providing financial insights to management.

Key ResponsibilitiesAccounting Duties

  • Maintain accurate financial records including general ledger, journals, and trial balance.
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoice posting, payments, collections, and reconciliations.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow.
  • Maintain fixed asset register and depreciation schedules.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.

Taxation & Compliance

  • Prepare and file UAE VAT returns accurately and on time.
  • Ensure compliance with UAE Corporate Tax regulations and support statutory tax filings.
  • Maintain proper documentation for tax audits and support communication with the Federal Tax Authority (FTA).
  • Monitor changes in tax laws and ensure implementation within company processes.
  • Assist in preparing necessary reports for internal and external auditors.

Financial Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare management reports, cost reports, and variance analysis.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
  • Provide financial insights for business decisions and compliance improvements.

Other Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.
  • Coordinate with external auditors, suppliers, banks, and government authorities as needed.
  • Support implementation and maintenance of ERP/accounting systems.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Professional certification (ACCA, CPA, CMA) is an advantage.
  • Minimum 2–5 years of accounting and taxation experience, preferably in the UAE.
  • Strong knowledge of UAE VAT laws, Corporate Tax rules, and FTA compliance.
  • Proficient in accounting software (Tally, QuickBooks, Zoho, SAP, or ERP systems).
  • Advanced MS Excel and analytical skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and time-management skills.
  • Good communication and coordination abilities.
