Role Purpose

The Early Childhood Teacher is responsible for creating a nurturing, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate learning environment that supports children's growth through play-based and relationship-centered learning. The role involves planning, delivering, and assessing engaging learning experiences aligned with the center's vision and curriculum standards.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching & Learning

  • Foster a supportive and respectful learning environment that promotes children's holistic development through play and relationship-building.
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver effective learning activities and lessons for all developmental domains—cognitive, literacy, numeracy, social-emotional, physical, and creative skills.
  • Teach children proper use and care of classroom materials and equipment to ensure safety and prevent injury or damage.
  • Lead a variety of activities such as arts and crafts, storytelling, music, imaginative play, games, and hands-on learning experiences.
  • Implement and maintain the daily classroom routine in alignment with center guidelines.
  • Teach and reinforce basic personal hygiene, healthy eating habits, and social skills.

Child Safety & Well-being

  • Ensure children's health, safety, and well-being at all times in accordance with child protection and safety policies.
  • Promote children's resilience, independence, and positive emotional well-being.
  • Respond effectively to the individual needs of each child, ensuring appropriate support and challenge.

Assessment & Documentation

  • Observe, assess, and document children's progress using a variety of assessment tools.
  • Prepare and maintain children's portfolios and termly reports for parents.
  • Utilize inclusive teaching strategies to support individual learning plans and developmental outcomes.

Environment & Curriculum

  • Establish and maintain stimulating indoor and outdoor learning environments with a wide range of materials that inspire exploration and project-based learning.
  • Ensure the curriculum is culturally inclusive, developmentally appropriate, and promotes global awareness.

Parent & Community Engagement

  • Communicate effectively with parents, keeping them informed and engaged in their child's learning journey.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to support center-wide initiatives and maintain high standards of practice.

Qualifications & Skills

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong understanding of early childhood development and educational best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • Ability to motivate, lead, and engage learners through clear goals and vision.
  • Ability to work independently with strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Positive attitude, outcome-oriented mindset, and ability to work as part of a team.
  • Basic First Aid training for children (required or willingness to obtain).


Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or equivalent.
  • EYFS or CACHE Level 3 Certification (mandatory).
  • Montessori Diploma (preferred).
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar teaching role.
  • Health & Safety Certification (preferred).
