EV Technician – Job Description

Position Title: EV Technician

1. Job Summary

The EV Technician is responsible for assembling, testing, troubleshooting, and maintaining electric vehicle (EV) systems, including battery packs, motors, controllers, wiring harnesses, and charging equipment. The role involves hands-on technical work, diagnostics, and ensuring all systems meet safety and performance standards.

2. Key Responsibilities:

A. Electrical & Mechanical Work

ü Assemble and install EV components (battery modules, BMS, motor controller, wiring harness, sensors).

ü Perform high-voltage (HV) and low-voltage (LV) electrical work following safety standards.

ü Troubleshoot electrical circuits, connectors, relays, fuses, and CAN/communication systems.

ü Carry out routine maintenance of EV systems and components.

B. Diagnostics & Testing:

ü Conduct system diagnostics using Multimeter, oscilloscope, and diagnostic software.

ü Test battery packs, chargers, powertrains, and auxiliary systems.

ü Identify and rectify faults in EV power systems.

C. Safety & Compliance:

ü Follow proper high-voltage safety protocols (PPE, lockout/tagout, insulation checks).

ü Ensure compliance with company standards and international electrical safety codes.

D. Support & Collaboration:

ü Assist R&D and engineering teams during prototyping and development.

ü Support installation, field service, and customer training when required.

3. Required Skills & Qualifications:

ü Diploma or ITI in Electrical / Electronics / Mechanical / Mechatronics.

ü 2–5 years of experience in EV, automotive, or industrial electrical systems.

ü Knowledge of:

§ Battery systems (Li-ion, BMS)

§ Motor controllers (BLDC, PMSM)

§ High-voltage safety procedures

§ CAN, RS485, UART communication

ü Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings.

ü Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Basic computer skills for diagnostics and reporting.

Location: Dubai, United Arab Emirates

Salary: 3000 AED – 3500 AED
