Senior Business Intelligence Developer (Power BI / Azure Data Platform)

We're looking for an experienced Business Intelligence Developer to join our client's growing data team.

If you're passionate about transforming raw data into actionable insights, designing scalable data solutions, and building robust BI systems on the Microsoft and Azure stack — this role is for you.

Key Responsibilities


• Design, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports that deliver meaningful business insights.


• Build and manage ETL pipelines using SSIS and Azure Data Factory, ensuring efficient and reliable data movement.


• Develop and optimize T-SQL scripts, stored procedures, functions, and views for analytics and reporting.


• Design and implement enterprise data warehouse solutions, including star and snowflake schemas, dimensional modeling, and fact/dimension tables.


• Deploy and manage BI solutions across environments using CI/CD pipelines and version control tools.


• Integrate data from on-premise and cloud sources, including Azure SQL Database, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Data Lake Storage.


• Monitor and enhance report and query performance through indexing, partitioning, and load balancing.


• Collaborate with business stakeholders, analysts, and other data teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.


• Implement and enforce data governance, security, and privacy standards across all BI assets.


• Mentor junior team members and promote best practices in BI development and cloud data architecture.

Required Qualifications


• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related field.


• 10+ years of hands-on experience in BI development, data engineering, or data warehousing.


• Advanced proficiency in:


• Power BI (DAX, Power Query, custom visuals, row-level security)


• SQL Server / T-SQL for database development


• SSIS for ETL and data integration


• Proven experience in data warehouse design and dimensional modeling.


• Strong knowledge of the Azure Data Platform, including:


• Azure Data Factory


• Azure SQL / Synapse Analytics


• Azure Data Lake Storage


• (Optional) Azure Monitor / Log Analytics


• Experience with DevOps / CI/CD for BI, using tools like Azure DevOps or Git.


• Strong skills in performance tuning for both data models and ETL pipelines.


• Excellent communication, documentation, and collaboration skills.
