A Vegetarian Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking high-quality vegetarian dishes using fresh ingredients and proper culinary techniques. The role focuses on taste, presentation, hygiene, and adherence to veg-only food preparation standards, ensuring a safe, clean, and strictly vegetarian kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook vegetarian menu items according to recipes and portion standards.
- Ensure all dishes are strictly vegetarian (no meat, fish, eggs, or other restricted items as per establishment policy).
- Maintain a clean, organized, and veg-only kitchen workspace.
- Wash, chop, and prepare fresh vegetables, herbs, and plant-based ingredients.
- Ensure proper storage of raw and cooked veg items to prevent cross-contamination.
- Assist in creating new veg dishes or improving existing ones.
- Monitor cooking times and temperatures for consistency and quality.
- Maintain hygiene standards as per FSSAI/food safety guidelines.
- Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth meal service.
- Manage inventory of vegetables, spices, and other veg-only supplies.
- Assist with receiving and checking fresh produce deliveries.
Skills & Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Veg Cook, Line Cook, or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of vegetarian cuisine styles (Indian, continental, or regional).
- Understanding of food safety, sanitization, and cross-contamination rules.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Basic knife skills and familiarity with kitchen equipment.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Contract, Fresher
Pay: AED1, AED2,000.00 per month
