Estimation Engineer – Joinery / Fit-Out

Estimation Manager / General Manager

Job Purpose:

To prepare accurate cost estimates, material take-offs, and quotations for joinery and fit-out projects by analyzing drawings, specifications, and client requirements, ensuring competitiveness and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review tender documents, drawings, and specifications to fully understand the project scope.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for joinery works (e.g., doors, wardrobes, kitchens, wall cladding, counters).
  • Conduct quantity take-offs and prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQ).
  • Obtain and analyze quotations from suppliers and subcontractors for materials, hardware, and finishes.
  • Coordinate with production, procurement, and design teams to ensure practical and cost-effective solutions.
  • Prepare technical and commercial proposals in compliance with tender requirements.
  • Review and compare tender drawings with IFC and shop drawings to identify variations.
  • Participate in pre- and post-tender meetings with clients, consultants, and internal teams.
  • Maintain cost databases for materials, labor, and fabrication times.
  • Support value engineering efforts to optimize costs and design efficiency.
  • Assist management in the negotiation and finalization of project pricing.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Interior Design, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
  • 3–7 years of experience in joinery or interior fit-out estimation.
  • Strong knowledge of joinery materials, production processes, and finishes.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, and estimation software such as PlanSwift, Bluebeam, etc.
  • Good understanding of UAE market rates and suppliers (if based in UAE).
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
