QA Lead – Automation

Reports To: Digital Strategy and Governance Manager

Location: Abu Dhabi

Role Purpose

Leads QA engineering for digital products with core strengths in automation, performance testing, and mobile testing. Ensures high-quality delivery across web, mobile, and low-code platforms (Pega & OutSystems), where testing requires platform-specific understanding of logic distribution, workflows, rule dependencies, and scenario-based validation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define and implement automation strategies for web, mobile, and API testing.
  • Build and maintain automation frameworks using Selenium, Playwright, and Cypress.
  • Manage performance testing using tools such as JMeter, k6, or equivalents.
  • Lead mobile testing across iOS and Android using Appium or similar tools.
  • Create regression suites and integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Oversee QA for low-code platforms (Pega & OutSystems), including:
  • Logic distributed across UI, workflows, and platform-managed rules.
  • Automatic dependency and impact analysis that must be validated.
  • Scenario-based functional validation instead of traditional code-level checks.
  • Ensure robust test coverage metrics, traceability, and accurate defect reporting.
  • Collaborate closely with Development, DevOps, Product, and UX teams within agile squads.
  • Drive "shift-left" testing and early defect identification.
Technical Competencies
  • Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, RestAssured, Postman.
  • Performance testing expertise (JMeter, k6).
  • Mobile testing using Appium, BrowserStack, Firebase Test Lab.
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and test automation integration.
  • Experience testing low-code platforms (Pega, OutSystems) with platform-specific QA approaches.
  • Test management tools: Azure DevOps, Jira, TestRail.
Behavioural Competencies
  • Strong leadership and analytical thinking with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to negotiate quality trade-offs and influence technical decisions.
  • Excellent communication, reporting, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in Arabic is preferred due to business and client requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 6+ years of QA experience, including at least 3+ years in automation.
  • Hands-on mobile testing experience is required.
  • ISTQB or equivalent QA certifications preferred.
  • Candidates fluent in Arabic are preferred to support business and client communication requirements.
