The Korean & Chinese Chef is responsible for preparing and presenting authentic Korean and Chinese cuisine while maintaining high standards of food quality, hygiene, and kitchen efficiency. The role requires strong knowledge of traditional recipes, cooking techniques, and ingredients, along with the ability to work in a fast-paced restaurant environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook authentic Korean and Chinese dishes according to the restaurant's menu and standards
  • Ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and portion control
  • Assist in menu planning, recipe development, and introducing seasonal or specialty dishes
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and workstations at all times
  • Follow food safety, hygiene, and HACCP standards strictly
  • Monitor food quality and freshness of ingredients
  • Coordinate with kitchen team members to ensure smooth daily operations
  • Control food waste and assist in stock management and ordering
  • Train and guide junior kitchen staff when required
  • Ensure timely preparation and service during peak hours

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Korean Chef, Chinese Chef, or similar role in a restaurant or hotel
  • Strong knowledge of authentic Korean and Chinese cooking techniques and ingredients
  • Ability to prepare a wide range of traditional dishes (e.g., soups, stir-fries, grills, rice and noodle dishes, sauces)
  • Knowledge of food safety and kitchen hygiene standards
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple orders efficiently
  • Team-oriented with good communication skills
  • Culinary certification or professional kitchen training is an advantage

Preferred Skills

  • Experience working in Asian or fusion restaurants
  • Familiarity with UAE food safety regulations
  • Ability to handle high-volume service
