Career & Internship Officer

The American University in the Emirates (AUE) is seeking a Career & Internship Officer for the Employability, Alumni, and Industry Partnership Office. The role is responsible for providing career counseling to students and alumni on career decision-making and the job search process, as well as coordinating and facilitating internship placements.

Qualifications & Experience

• Master's or Bachelor's degree in Education Management or a related field from an accredited university.
• 3–5 years of practical experience in a university environment.
• Preferably bilingual (English and Arabic fluently).

Skills / Training / Knowledge

• Ability to efficiently handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Strong relationship-building skills with employers, alumni, and external partners.
• Proficiency in writing professional documents, including emails, reports, and resumes.
• Experience in planning and organizing career fairs, workshops, and informational sessions.
• Ability to address student inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally.

Job Description

• Plan and execute specialized training programs to enhance student employability.
• Build and maintain long-term relationships with employers in the public and private sectors, aligned with AUE programs, to ensure a pool of internship placements and employment opportunities.
• Schedule, plan, and execute the University's Annual Career Fair and other on-campus recruitment activities.
• Develop an annual budget that supports departmental goals and initiatives.
• Prepare bi-annual reports on OCI activities and present employer and internship supervisor feedback to relevant departments for institutional decision-making.
• Provide career guidance and counseling to students and alumni.
• Manage the student internship process, including placement coordination with Colleges, conducting internship site visits, and monitoring the internship exemption process in accordance with University policies.
• Identify and secure funding from various sources to support the University's mission in alignment with advancement and fundraising plans.
• Cultivate relationships with current and prospective donors to maintain their engagement and support.
• Perform any duties as assigned by superiors.
