Job Purpose

RIT Dubai is currently seeking applications from exceptional candidates for for the position of Full-time Faculty - Art & Art History to teach undergraduate elective courses accessible to students across various disciplines, and with a focus on providing the foundations for Bachelor's in Fine Arts, BFAs, and strengthening artistic perspective electives which serve students form all departments. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and culturally sensitive instruction in Art History, with a focus on courses such as ARTH-135 (General Art History: Ancient to Medieval), ARTH-136 (General Art History: Medieval to Renaissance), ARTH-368, and ARTH th Century Art), Islamic Art and Architecture, and related.

Responsibilities:

Teaching

· Deliver high-quality and innovative teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

· Contribute to curriculum development.

· Foster industry study trips, collaborations and internships (COOPS).

· Prepare teaching-related reports (course files) in a timely and accurate manner.

· Provide academic advice to students

· Tasks include:Course Instruction, Curriculum Development, Student Assessment, Office Hours and Student Support, Course files.

Scholarly Activity

· Conduct high-quality and original, theoretical, applied, and creative research with measurable impact.

· Exhibit in reputable international or national venues, participate in design competitions, and develop high quality design works.

· Publish regularly in peer-reviewed, high-ranking journals, books and or relevant avenues.

· Pursue external research funding and foster partnerships with academia, industry, and government.

Academic Leadership & Service

· Actively contribute to committees and strategic initiatives, such as recruitment, exhibitions, conferences and others.

· Support accreditation and quality assurance processes

· Participate in outreach, community engagement, and knowledge transfer activities.

· Mentor colleagues and support a collaborative academic culture.

· Undertake other duties assigned by the Program Coordinator or Head of Discipline.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

· Minimum a Master's degree in Art, Art History or closely related field is required. An MFA or Ph.D. in Art History are preferred.

· Ability to contribute in meaningful ways to the RIT Dubai's continuing commitment to cultural diversity, pluralism, and individual differences.

· Excellent communication and presentation skills in English (oral and written).

· Demonstrated leadership and collegiality in academic environments.
