Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst Specialist
plays a key role in transforming data into actionable insights that drive business decisions. This role involves analyzing complex data sets, creating dashboards and reports, and providing strategic recommendations to senior leadership. The BI Analyst works with various business units to understand their data needs and delivers solutions that help the company optimize performance, improve operations, and make data-driven decisions. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and proficient in BI tools and data visualization techniques.

Key Responsibilities
Data Analysis & Reporting

• Collect, analyze, and interpret business data from multiple sources to support strategic and operational decision-making.
• Develop and maintain regular reports and dashboards that track key performance indicators (KPIs), trends, and business metrics.
• Work closely with business stakeholders to understand their data needs and ensure reports and analyses are aligned with business objectives.
• Conduct ad-hoc data analysis to answer specific business questions and provide insights into new opportunities or challenges.

Business Intelligence & Data Visualization

• Use BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Qlik) to design and build interactive, user-friendly dashboards and visualizations that make complex data easy to understand.
• Provide insights into data trends, helping business leaders identify areas for improvement and growth.
• Develop automated reporting systems to deliver consistent, real-time insights across the business.
• Create visually compelling and actionable reports that support business goals and communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Data Modeling & ETL Processes

• Work with the data engineering team to design and implement efficient data models and data pipelines to support BI reporting and analytics.
• Understand the flow of data from source systems to BI tools and ensure data quality, accuracy, and timeliness.
• Perform ETL (extract, transform, load) operations to prepare data for analysis, ensuring it is clean, reliable, and accessible.

Strategic Insights & Decision Support

• Collaborate with leadership and business units to develop and implement data-driven strategies that improve business outcomes.
• Provide actionable insights to support decisions related to sales, marketing, finance, operations, and other key areas.
• Use historical and predictive analytics to identify trends and forecast business performance.
• Present findings in a clear, actionable format, helping stakeholders make informed decisions based on data.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with other departments such as marketing, finance, sales, and operations to understand their data needs and deliver customized reporting solutions.
• Act as a liaison between technical teams (e.g., data engineers) and business teams to ensure data requirements are met effectively.
• Participate in cross-functional projects to support data-driven initiatives, such as product launches, market analysis, and customer insights.

Data Governance & Quality Control

• Ensure adherence to data governance best practices, including data accuracy, consistency, privacy, and security.
• Continuously monitor data quality, identifying and addressing data discrepancies or issues.
• Ensure compliance with relevant data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) in all BI processes and reports.

Continuous Improvement & Innovation

• Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and best practices in BI, data analytics, and reporting tools.
• Propose and implement improvements to existing BI processes, tools, and reporting methods to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Identify opportunities to integrate new data sources, tools, or technologies to improve the BI function.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, or a related field.
• 2–4 years of experience in business intelligence, data analysis, or a related role.
• Strong experience with BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, or similar platforms.
• Proficiency in SQL and experience working with relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle).
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and provide actionable business insights.
• Experience with data modeling, data warehousing, and ETL processes.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present technical information in a clear and understandable way to non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with data analytics programming languages (e.g., Python, R) and statistical modeling.
• Familiarity with cloud-based BI platforms (e.g., AWS Redshift, Google BigQuery, Microsoft Azure).
• Knowledge of advanced analytics techniques, including predictive modeling and machine learning.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and experience working in cross-functional teams.
