Job Summary

A Cost Accountant plays a vital role in managing the financial health of a manufacturing facility. Their responsibilities go beyond traditional accounting they're deeply involved in cost control, budgeting, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cost Accounting & Analysis
  • Track and analyse production costs, packaging, material usage, labour and overhead
  • Conduct variance analysis between actual and standard costs
  • Recommend cost-saving measures and process improvements
  • Collaborate with perfumers and production teams to analyze cost per formula
  • Maintain cost sheets for each SKU, factoring in packaging and bottling
  • Calculate cost per batch and assess yield efficiency
  • Assist Finance Manager for creating list price for generic products and specific orders
  • Identify cost variances due to evaporation, spillage, or formulation changes
  • Assist in budget preparation and forecasting aligned with factory goals
  • Verify product-wise margins with actual costs and replacement costs
  • Define actual product cost and replacement costs
  • Collaboration & Strategy
  • Work closely with plant managers and operations teams and reporting into Finance Manager and CFO
  • Provide financial insights to support strategic decisions
  • Review profitability of product lines and suggest improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Professional certifications like CA, CMA are a plus
  • Experience in manufacturing or factory accounting is often required
  • Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles and ERP systems
  • Proficiency in Excel and financial modeling
  • Analytical mindset, attention to detail, and good communication skills
  • Familiarity with ERP systems tailored to chemical or cosmetic manufacturing
  • Understanding of international trade regulations (especially for export-heavy markets like UAE)
  • Experience with product lifecycle costing and launch budgeting.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: AED4, AED5,000.00 per month
