Job Summary:
The Assistant Restaurant Manager supports in overseeing daily restaurant operations, ensuring smooth service, guest satisfaction, and team performance. This role involves supervising the floor team, coordinating with kitchen and bar operations, handling administrative duties, and stepping in as acting manager in the absence of the Restaurant Manager. The Assistant Manager also plays an active role in training, motivating staff, and maintaining operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Service
- Ensure all guests receive professional, attentive, and personalized service at all times.
- Monitor guest satisfaction and resolve complaints or issues promptly and effectively.
- Maintain high service standards, ensuring consistency across all shifts.
- Develop strategies to enhance the overall guest experience and encourage loyalty.
Operational Duties
- Oversee daily restaurant operations, including floor management, reservations, and coordination with the kitchen and bar.
- Manage budgets, control costs, and monitor revenue performance against targets.
- Handle ordering, stock management, and supplier relations to ensure smooth supply chain operations.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, licensing laws, and health and safety regulations.
- Conduct regular operational and financial reporting for senior management/ownership.
Cleanliness & Organization
- Ensure the restaurant, service areas, and back-of-house meet hygiene, cleanliness, and safety standards at all times.
- Oversee maintenance of equipment, furniture, and facilities, coordinating repairs when necessary.
- Guarantee compliance with sanitation and HACCP requirements.
Teamwork & Leadership
- Lead, train, and develop the service and floor teams, fostering a culture of excellence and teamwork.
- Recruit, onboard, and evaluate staff, ensuring high performance and low turnover.
- Manage scheduling, payroll approvals, and staffing to match operational needs.
- Set clear expectations and provide coaching and feedback to improve team performance.
- Act as the face of the restaurant, inspiring and motivating the team to deliver memorable guest experiences.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 4 to 5 years of full-service, fine dining restaurant management experience.
- A vibrant, outgoing & dynamic personality combined with excellent communication skills in English.
- A-grade customer orientation & service skills.
- Strong leadership and people development skills.
- Ability to multi-task, organize, and prioritize work.
- Must be Russian speaker
