Overview Of The Role
The Sales Team Leader at IKEA takes responsibility for steering the performance of sales operations towards maximized sales and optimized long-term profit. This role involves selecting the range of products to be sold and setting competitive prices to ensure IKEA's low-price leadership. Additionally, the Sales Team Leader plays a crucial role in coordinating and managing relationships between stores, central retail management, and distributors to align with IKEA's business strategy and sustainability goals. This role requires a strategic approach to commercial planning, people management, and the implementation of sustainable practices, making it essential for achieving sales budgets and maintaining IKEA's brand presence in the local market.
What You Will Do
Operations
- Ensure the implementation of systems and methods stated in IKEA Concept Documentation in the Sales and Range of all stores.
- Define the range in the sales area of Showroom and Markethall to be sold by all stores.
- Collaborate with shopkeepers to drive the process of selecting suppliers and managing contracts to achieve economies of scale.
- Enhance the competitive strength of the IKEA product range by ensuring the implementation of range issues related to systems and methods.
- Steer performance in sales area operations towards maximized sales and optimized long-term profit.
- Perform all range administration in the sales IT-system for products belonging to the Business Area.
- Work closely with the Logistics team to adapt sales forecasts to sales patterns for optimal goods flow.
- Set prices on the IKEA range and track competitors' price levels to secure IKEA's low-price leadership.
Commercial
- Contribute to the development and implementation of a clear IKEA Sales & Range action plan using store and country business plans.
- Stay in weekly contact and support shopkeepers in the stores.
- Select and ensure availability of products for all marketing activities in partnership with Logistics.
- Maintain communication with the IKEA range distributor regarding range issues and the annual cycle.
- Coordinate IKEA range issues between stores and central retail management and the IKEA distributor.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of the local home furnishings market, including customers, trends, and competitors.
- Ensure systems and methods are implemented in your areas of responsibility.
- Set local range priorities according to IKEA of Sweden's overall range strategy.
People Management
- Support shopkeepers in conducting competitor analysis and take actions based on results.
- Commit to developing the Sales team and securing their training on the IKEA Concept and key guidelines.
- Empower, support, and coach Sales co-workers to perform better and grow.
- Cultivate an environment where the IKEA culture is a living reality and diversity is valued.
Sustainability
- Secure local adaptation of global and country directions to support the total business agenda and more People and Planet Positive IKEA.
- Ensure alignment, budget, and resources are in place to advance the sustainability agenda.
- Enable and follow-up on sustainability performance and progress using Group tools and methods.
- Facilitate integration and implementation of sustainability by providing support with information, best practices, tools, and methods.

What Qualifies You For The Role
- High School Credential required.
- Minimum of 2-5 years of retail experience.
- Several years of IKEA shopkeeper experience in one or several business areas preferred.
- Strong understanding and interest in home furnishings and customer service.
