What will you be doing?
As a Field Services Representative, you will serve as a technical authority on the DTC product line, supporting complex sales initiatives and leading interoperability demonstrations. Your role will also involve contributing to system testing and development efforts, while providing administrative and operational support to the Regional Sales Team. This includes managing customer interactions, processing orders, and maintaining accurate sales records.
A strategic and customer-focused sales approach is essential to effectively meet client expectations and support continued business growth.
In addition to the broader DTC portfolio, this role will have a strong focus on DTC's wireless mesh solutions, with regular involvement across our unmanned systems (including drones and EOD/bomb disposal robotics) and soldier systems. You will frequently support mission-critical field deployments, training programmes, and customer use-case assessments across defence, security, and commercial environments. The role is approximately 50% site-based and 50% travel, including regular travel across Africa, the Middle East, and Asia.
Key Responsibilities will include.
- Deliver high-quality training and product demonstrations to support customer engagement.
- Support complex sales opportunities by building, testing, and integrating communication systems.
- Assist in preparing accurate quotations and coordinating order processing.
- Support export permit applications, shipping logistics, and equipment delivery.
- Investigate and resolve technical issues, customer complaints, and post-sales concerns.
- Manage RMAs and monitor repair progress.
- Identify new business opportunities across commercial, public safety, security, and military markets.
- Conduct customer visits, training, field trials, and trade show support to drive product adoption.
- Provide feedback to inform product development and address customer needs.
You will also deliver frequent 'train-the-trainer' style instruction to customer teams, partners, and end users, ensuring deep technical understanding and operational readiness across diverse communication and unmanned system environments.
About You
We are seeking a seasoned Field Services professional with military exposure / experience, who can combine technical proficiency with real-world operational insight to deliver reliable, high-impact support in the field.
Your hands-on background in unmanned systems and advanced communications technologies—developed through operational roles—includes expertise with HF, mesh networks, and datalink systems, enabling you to support complex field deployments and mission-critical military and law enforcement operations. Accustomed to a rapidly changing environments, you bring a disciplined, mission-oriented approach to problem-solving and technical support. You are confident delivering training and demonstrations, and you excel in both independent and team-based roles. Your ability to bridge operational needs with technical solutions makes you a trusted asset across defence, security, and commercial sectors.
While a military background is strongly preferred due to the direct relevance of operational understanding and user community insights, we also welcome candidates from the secure communications industry who have held similar customer-facing technical roles. Candidates without radio or unmanned systems experience may still be suitable if they bring a strong foundation in electronic warfare or closely related disciplines.
